So after being 10 days late and convinced I was pregnant my period started last night! Gutted.

Worst thing though is my cycle lasted for a whopping 45 days!

Since coming off the pill about 18 months ago I only started having regular period again about 6 months ago. My cycles have been averaging about 34 days and have been actually getting shorter up up until this cycle!

Does anyone know if evening primrose oil could be lengthening my cycles? Its the only thing I can think of that could be messing things up. Was Finally relaxing about having regular periods! Don't want them being messed up when I start trying in September! (sorry to post here but WTT is really quiet)

I'm not really up on evening primrose oil usage but it is described as a method of shortening cycles.

I can't believe i'm having such a hard time finding out *how* it makes cycle length shorter considering most of the female population are supposed to take it... which might explain how it can suddenly shoot up again like you are experiencing.

I'll keep looking :oooo:

Thanks Louise. I wonder if I might be taking too much. I take 2 500mg tablets every morning. Dosage instructions were 1 or 2 tablets every day though so it should be ok I would have thought!

My cycles are really long too. Currently on day 50 but think AF is on it's way!!

Someone in the Agnus Cactus thread has mentioned evening primrose oil, I have just bought some to try and shorten mine!!

Not started taking it yet though! I too have spent the last week convinced I was PG because my last cycle was 43 days!!

xx

I took Evening Primrose Oil for first time last month and my cycle went from 28 days down to 25. I'm taking it and Agnus Cactus to try and make AF easier to get through cos my first day every month is pure torture.

Yea everything I have read has said it shortens cycles not lengthens them. Hopefully it was just a strange month for me then!
