Episiotomy stitches

Hi ladies, I just wondered if anyone else had them and how long they take to heal? I had my beautiful little girl 12 days ago and they feel mostly fine now and look fine too. It's not all I think about but really miss being intimate with hubby and wondered when it's safe to resume sex again? I've only been sore from my stitches and they feel fine, I'm just worried if the stitches are still there (I don't know) they will rip out or something?! I don't see a mid wife any mOre so can't ask her.. Thank you for any replies xxx

I cant help you but i had my baby on sunday (11th) and had to be cut so that meant stitches.
I think its my bruising that hurts rather than the stitches - how long did it take for yours not to hurt so much?

I had Michael 3 weeks ago now and suffered a third degree tear, I now feel like I'm pretty much healed apart from still bleeding a little. I really feel ready to dtd with OH but I'm so nervous things haven't completely healed inside. I'm going to wait till my 6 week check until I do anything as I don't know who else to ask if it would be ok, iykwim? Will be the longest 6 weeks! x

Min stopped hurting after about a week and a half but it was a long painful week and a half lol. I was very bruised and swollen. It looks great and healed but I'm too scared to do anything in case I'm not properly healed! Xxx

I had stitches too but I still haven't been brave enough with the OH yet... and I gave birth 6 weeks ago! :/ I'm worried I'll never want to have sex again!!

Ok well last night we tried having sex (17days after birth) hubby couldn't wait any longer! I was very nervous and kept wriggling away but he kept on. Anyway it hurt at first but gently kept going and eventually it was actually (mostly) enjoyable apart from the occasional sharp pain. I think it all still feels fine now, I just wondered if I had come open would I be quite aware? Would I know by now or could it start hurting later on or something?

9 days after birth and mine are healing nicely. I am feeling good with my body - my tummy, whilst a bit wobbly, has practically pinged back into shape and was straight back into my size 10s.

I am desperate to get intimate with my OH, especially since I am certain I am suffering from baby blues. I desperately want that intimacy - but still unsure... going to wait it out for a good month or so yet. Eeek.

I was exactly like you but don't think we could of waited a month lol. I was surprised how it wasn't too painful. Sex is fine now just still a bit sore in certain positions. Goud luck when you give it a go!

I'll have to make it a good xmas present for him! OH is definitely after some action... i'm 16 days on now and feel pretty much healed up, but going to hold fire for now anyway! And luckily, I am slowly feeling the baby blues ebb away, hopefully!

I miss the intimacy with hubby as we struggled to DTD towards the end of my pregnancy. I'm too scared at the minute to try anything but I still have light bleeding so will wait till that all stops maybe Christmas time could be about when I'm ready x

Thanks! I am not quite here yet, but starting to feel more confident with my LO. I still hate the mornings - watching my OH leave at 0730 is awful - the rest of the day feels daunting, but as the day goes by I find that I am coping, and almost enjoying my time with the little man (I have always been someone who worries a lot and with LO it goes into overdrive so can't 100% enjoy my time with him !). Fingers crossed we're on the up! No tears since Sunday!

Its such a big change to have a baby and especially as its all new.
Im the same when my OH goes to work - he works nights - and the evenings are so long. No tears since sunday is good. Im sure you are a brill mummy and i always thinkits better to worry than not to?! Xxx
