I know at my hospital they don't let you walk around but a doctor told me you can still go home 6hours after if everything's ok. How does that work ? Also do you have to have a catheter to wee after and for how long ? Anyone who's had one can you please let me know your experiences and how long before you went home etc. not planning on having one but consultant said I may be advised one due to a heart murmur I have. Thanks

I had a fab epidural experience, besides my arm going tingly from the bp cuff..
I had a catheter in after I had the epidural as I couldn't pee by myself, but I think they just emptied my bladder then removed it (certainly didn't feel anything if they left it in for a while).
I was up within an hour or so to have a bath..also peed shortly after birth so everything went back to normal.
I was discharged the next day, mainly because I gave birth late evening so stayed the next day to re cooperate.
I had to have an epidural because baby was breech & would have been more painful than normal delivery.
Definitely felt the urge to push.

Would have one again xx
