So I work with children with learning disabilities and some adults too! One of the houses I work at has just come down with a major Pinworm infestation , All children and staff have it.
Ive been given a treatment, but obviously they dont know im pregnant and I'm not sure If I can take it.
Does anyone know what treatment I can take ?
I tried calling my doctor but got told Id have to wait 3 days for a call back.
Then I went to my pharmacy but by the time They was ready for me there was a massive que of prying ears, so I bought some gaviscone and left lol!
Please help
Its making me feel rough ! xxx

Is there a leaflet in it like you get is boxes of paracetamol etc? Or have you tried googling the ingredients to see if you can take them? Xx

It says to speak to your doctor.. Which is a huge help! I can't deal with this for three days :/xx

I would call nhs direct and explain the situation with your gp. Fx they can get someone to call you back or to see someone. Is there a walk in centre you could go to actually?

Ah good idea, hmmm not sure about a walk in centre, I live in cornwall , we barley have mains gas ( not a joke ) I will get onto google now! Thankyou x

Unfortunately can't take the medication when pregnant, if you have pinworms you need to follow the hygiene route for 6 weeks at a minimum.

My son had pinworms and I won't lie, it was a massive hassle, particularly the daily cleaning, washing of bedding and clothes etc.

Best of luck X

Gahhhhh! It just makes me feel soo gross! Thankyou for the advice though! Im just worried work wont uphold a cleanliness routine and they just keep coming back

Hey ladies, So I do have them! and I can't get rid if them, It making me feel disgusting and really down!
Because i'm constipated They're just not able to pass through! I managed to go for a little Number 2 earlier and there was so many in there its made me Vomit. Ive been crying for the last hour... ( mostly hormones )
Ive done EVERYTHING, I've been showering twice a day, cut all my lovely nails off, changing my bed sheets daily, which is a pain in the ass!
I just dont know what to do, and getting a appointment with a doctor round here is rare as rocking horse shit, Can anyone recommend anything ?

Aww Lulla, my girls had them and they were resistant to the treatment from the chemist so I had to see our Dr, they prescribed Vermox I think it was called, a white liquid, one 5ml spoonful, then repeat after so many days, it cured them straight away, BUT I'm not sure if you can use them in pregnancy. I had them when I was little, they are itchy as hell, I know they can also crawl into your vagina too. Definitely go see your Dr hun. Doing all the hygiene measures will not cure them, you need medication to get rid of them. x

Have you been to a chemist to ask advice in there ?, if its hard for you to get a Dr appointment that would be my next option. xx

Yeah they just said there is nothing I can take, Not very helpful!
Work is still infested with them too, Im tempted to refuse to go in until they are sorted. If I get rid then catch them again ill loose my shit with them xx
Going to phone for a emergency app today xx

I think there are some natural ways to dispel them, certain foods like garlic etc and I also had them years ago in my first pregnancy and I was given a liquid medication safe to use in pregnancy xx

I spoke to the doctor today and he said there is nothing he would recommend in first Tri, So Ive just got to carry on.
He did give me some decent laxatives!
Im sure Not pooping doesnt help!
