early scan and uncertain

Hi ladies i need some advice, brutally honest im expecting the worse just to prepare myself! i found out i was pregnant around 3 weeks ago did many tests all started to become positive after a couple of negative ones!. my last period was on th 2nd january and i had come off the pill roughly 4 months before. I hadnt up until getting pregnant been calculating all my cycles but think im fairly regular vmeaning my second missed period would be today and still no sign. I have had an early scan today as i was having crampy pains since i found out and i was getting concerned. when they did the ultrasound she could see a sac but that was it so went in with a vaginal scan and could still only see a sac no egg sac or fetal pole. She also put me around 5 weeks due to the size.
she says this could mean im only 5 weeks and miscalculated and only seeing the sac is fairly normal at 5 weeks. or it could mean the pregnanacy isn t viable and either stopped developing at 5 weeks or wont be developing any furthur. she took bloods and i have to go back in 48 hours to do more to see if my levels increaase. just totally unsure what to think. i have had tender breasts and cramping/backache bit of a taste in mouth few headaches but apart from that no other symptoms. sorry for essay, advice needed! xxxx

Its quite normal to see just the sac at 5 weeks, this is why most places won't scan until 6 weeks to save worry. Hopefully when you get the second lot of bloods done in 48 hours levels will have risen

thanx hun i hope so just gives u a negative feeling as i really thought i was a bit furthur on than 5 weeks due to last period! i also wouldve thort that if it wasnt going to progress i would start to miscarry or have more signs than that on the scan! anxious time as i dont think theres anything you can do other than wait! x

thanx ladies i will update. is it possible to ovulate later than you thought? the only way i had to figure out was from the start date of last period and put it around 7 nearly 8 weeks. but my period did last almost 7 days from 2nd january and started having cramping pains around 2 weeks after that like i was going t come on my period but never did. very worried and hoping the egg sac thing forms! but its natures way i suppose x
