My son is a little over 7 months and we began weaning him about 8 weeks ago. He eats 3 good meals a day (a mixture of purees and finger foods) and has increased the amount of solids he takes well, however, his bottles have not really decreased. His milk intake varies wildly and always has done but yesterday he packed away three meals as well as about a litre of milk. He still has 5 bottles: one first thing when he wakes up, then solid breakfast, then bottle mid morning before his nap, then solid lunch followed by a bottle, a mid afternoon bottle when he wakes up from his nap, a solid dinner and a bedtime bottle. My question is, should I be looking to drop a bottle/reduce the amount in the bottles? I feel like I'm constantly feeding him at the moment!

My ds1 didn't start dropping feeds until 9 months, he has always been a big eater and still is. Your ds will drop milk as and when he wants and, as much as it's a pain, it's better for him to dictate when.

I thought as much lumber, thanks. Did he just start refusing bottles or gradually take less and less?

Gradually took less from 9oz to 3oz and then refused at that point. He self-weaned off formula at 10.5 months.
