In approx 55 mins I'm goin for my first swimming lesson!!! Really havin to force myself to go,I can swim but technique is crap and fed up of not been able to use swimming as an exercise cos I can't swim lengths v well and always think ppl r watchin the fat woman splashin about.
Just got a feelin I'm either not gonna get what I want out of it or itl b full of old ppl :/

Oh good luck and have fun!!! And good for you for doing something about it, I constantly complain about stuff but rarely put myself out there to do something about it!! I bet you are more skilled than you give yourself credit for, maybe just about fine-tuning!!

Absolutely loved it,souch that I'm off again tomorrow!! Front crawl mastered, just breast stroke to learn tomorrow :D

Front crawl mastered in one lesson, that's good going!!!! I always think if you dread something you always end up enjoying it. Like when I really don't want to go on a night out, always ends up to be the best ever!
Hope it's just as god tomorrow! :)

Wow good for you - Iv'e been putting off lessons for years!

I can only do the breaststroke - to the point that I cando it quite well and fast If I like, but can do nothing else, and all the time my head is cranning to make sure my face doesn't get splashed by the other swimmers when they go past, or I drown!

I'm going to start swimming again soon as this is somehting thats good to do when preggers too.

Enjoy you next lesson

Ya should go for it jj,1 of the reasons I went is cos I pay my gum membership and swimmins included and don't fancy workin out in the gym wen I'm 6 months gone so if I go swimmin regular it means I wont have to cancel membership xx

Enjoy your lesson.
I had to take my hat of to my hubby this year. He was unable to swim at all, and with a major back operation toward the end of the year, swimming before and after the op is going to be the best exercise for him, so he built up the courage and started having lessons. He loves it, but has found swimming a few time a week in between lessons has held no end with his technique. Best of luck and enjoy. Once you get the first lesson over and done with the rest will become easier and easier.
