Doppler tips

Has any1 got any tips on how to find bubs hb? My Doppler arrived this mornin and so far the only thing I know is that my heart is beating just fine lol xx

Start low! Right on your pubic bone, you'll surprised at how low they are for a while. Move slowly and tilt the Doppler at angles too. I pressed a little firm too as I have extra weight on my belly but I found it and I'm sure you will too, takes a lot of patience!

Thanks,I've got quite a bit of tummy flab and also got a 3 yr old that won't leave me alone for more than 5 mins so don't have time to lay and find it,will have a go later wen he's in bed xx

Oo forgot to mention to try it with a full bladder..pushes the baby up!

i am 12weeks tomorrow and still can't find it, stressful so trying to leave it until netx week now!

It says from 10 weeks on the info,not worried cos I know a mw wouldn't usually attempt til 16 weeks. And got my scan tues

I found mine with angel sounds at 11 weeks xx

just found mine when i got in from work!!

i don't know if it made any odds but i used some body lotion instead of the sticky gel you get and found it easier to manouver!

Full bladder!!! Also the baby will be quite low so start scanning low, changing angles and don't be afraid to press hard.x

No tips im afraid, im a bit further on so i can feel where it is with my hand, then just take a lucky guess at which end is head, which end is bum, and hope i get the right one!

I did wanna ask though, In the angel sounds info leaflet it doesnt say how much its safe to use..?

Not sure tbh,I haven't got the angelsounds but mine says 2-3 times a week but I've googled it and it says that it's safe to use as much as u want xx

I used it twice the day I got it (Once to check I could make it work, Then showed grandma to be LOL) But havent touched it since cause im scared of over doing it.

I'm limiting it to once a day max..,on the basis that if I was in hospital they would listen everyday from 16ish weeks xx
