doppler concerns

I went to see the consultant today when i was with him they used the doppler to find a hearteat she did find it but was after a while i couldnt hear it but she said she could i am panking like hell or r my just being ott !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If she said she could hear it I wouldn't worry Surely you should have a MW appt soon and they'll probably listen? x

no other appots got scan april 14 th but getting a private one done soon as! hopefully on wednesday cause got myself in a panic before she did it she said she mite not b able 2 find a hearbteat

Try not to worry hun, the first time I heard this LOs HB was at 16 weeks and it took the midwife aaaages, I started to get so worried, even though it's still possible not find it at that early stage. She found it eventually but even though I could hear it it did sound quite far away. Same thing happened at 17 weeks when I saw a consultant, they couldn't find it for ages and again I was just about holding myself together when they found it... found out at 20 week scan that I have an anterior placena so the doppler has to go through that before finding baby. Even now baby is bigger the doppler picks up loads of placenta noises before finding baby.

I'm sure if mw hadn't of found it she would've said, but try not to worry

dotn worry, if the midwife said she found it then she defo wouldnt lie to you.... its a bizarre sounds like a train or a galloping horse x

Like the others have said if midwife said she heard it then she heard it - as she cant lie to you. Am sure if she thought somthing was wrong she would have you up the hospital babe so dont panic everything is ok xx

I lose the heartbeat all the time when I'm dopplering, they're shifty little buggers you know!!

I just find it amusing now, a bit like a game, cos when I find the heartbeat, even for a split second, then it's gone and I have to find it again. DH wanted to hear the other day, but I kept having to get the headphones back again cos when I passed it over there was nothing to hear, even after I'd spent ages finding it!!

Wouldn't worry about it pet, by now the baby's all over the place, just wait til it hardly has any room to move and you will win the game every time xx

PS - when bubs has snuggled down in tight, the hb is very faint, but I'm used to it now and don't panic anymore. I just jiggle him about til he comes closer. I'm quite a mean mummy actually, not letting him get his peace!! xx

Alot of midwives won't listen in, even at 16 weeks because it can be difficult to find. I wouldn't worry. You could have an anterior placenta which makes it harder to hear - but I'm sure all is well

I have nothing against trainee midwifes but she looked unsure of all the things she was doing I always seem 2 get traines any 1 else ?I wish I never said ok 2 try n listen for hb but she wrote on my notes she heard it

Maybe she needed to for her placement? Not fair on you that she would do that though!

Really, don't worry about it, my midwife said she wouldn't even attempt it at 16 weeks so clearly the majority just simply won't hear them at that stage xx

When I had my 16 week apt she listened in. Took her ages to find it she said "you have alot going on in your stomach" then said "that's the heartbeat" and then she lost it. She heard it for a maximum of 5 seconds and it really worried me. She never told me it sounded normal or not. I kept trying to think that she would have said something, if something was wrong. I kept wondering what she meant that there was alot going on. I got myself so worked up in the end a week later went for private scan. All was well and the consultant said that all the noise she heard on Doppler was probably my placenta because of its position. It's also the reason I'm not feeling much movement.

Don't stress yourself out about it, if there was a problem they would have said. I had my appointment at 16 weeks and they used doppler and I could only just about hear it. x
