Okay I know I more than likely sound like a scrooge around about now, which I'm actually not but does anyone know where I can get cot bed bedding sets? Cheapish? I've seen them all about £100 or is this about the going price... I'm no expert when it comes to all this buying.
xx

matalan have bedding sets for 40 quid. not sure if they will have all the bits you want. its not being a scrooge its being sensible lol

Asda have some sets :) TBH I only used a bumper, curtains and then colour matched sheets and cellular blankets. I found matching mobiles useless as I disturbed baby more rewinding it, the quilt is for decor until theyre older but by that time they can use a duvet. :) x

I've only brought the bumper and duvet for our cotbed but did buy the complete crib set from babies r us. I've then brought colour matched sheets from babies r us (they're on offer at the mo) and also from Tesco. Tesco have sets and plain bedding bales on offer (I think) as well. x x x

Nothing wrong with watching the pennies, I was shocked at the price of bedding too but im planning on holding off till the january sales and hopefully gettin it then at a good price

Im planning on waiting till the sales kick in. Im definitely a scrooge - no point spending money when you dont have to. I've kinda stopped looking at a lot of the bits we need now - hoping to pick up some bargains when the sales kick in,

xxx

Asda have a set for £25 at the mo. We got one. It's nice but faulty so taking it back.

We got the £40 from matalan. Needs an iron in pic  x

Might wait until the sales, never thought of that... I don't need a cot bumper as baby won't go in the cot until he's outgrown the crib so therefore will be sitting up, which is apparently when we no longer use a bumper :s. We also already have some sheets so just a fleecy blanket/duvet I think we need. Just trying to save all we can xxx

I'm not buying a set. I've just gone for varying shades of blue for sheets and blankets. Pip will be in swaddles/sleeping bags so won't really need blankets as such. His nursey osgon a be decorated in the best bits from the mothercare my first adventure and babies r us my favourite things sets. I like them both, couldn't decide so gonna have a mix of both!

So are you just using just blankets and things?
I'm thinking it will be pointless to buy a set when it won't be used. x

Yeah the bumpers aren't 100% safe so no point there. Quilts they can't use until a year, so again no point. Only things in a set they can use are the sheets and blankets. So I'm just buyin plain/motified ones and then buying random bits from sets I like. There r nice canvas wall hangings I like from mothercare, a few bits from babies r us range. Because we r just goin wih a blue theme, we can get near enough anything from anywhere and it will all go in together. My light shade is 3 different shades of blue for example. Can collect bits as I go if I see them cheap xx

Sainsburys had some nice sets in when I went the other day, and do loads of plain white and cream cot sheets and stuff very reasonably, so you can add bits from other ranges if needed. Nothing wrong with being careful - the second hand Sid I'm growing inside me won't really care either way whether it's £20 or £120 as long as it's comfy!! lol

I just wanted a patterned coverlet or something for LO, but i'm sure I can find a cheap enough one somewhere. x

ive made my own blankets lol but i will also buy a couple of other blankets too

Got mine off ebay and it's lovely. Bumpers aren't the kind of thing that get ruined so are perfect for a second hand buy.

Thanks for all the responces ladies. I'll be looking around now.x
