I'm making it for a friend at work who goes on Mat leave on Friday. Haven't added any gifts to it as of yet and it's my first attempt at making a nappy cake so hope it looks OK! Suggestions welcome!

Oh honey, that looks fantastic!

I'd maybe roll in some muslins (coloured pink or blue if you know sex of baby), pop a teddy on the top, and that's you done!

What nappies is it?

Aw thats great.

I would maybe pop one or 2 cheap baby toys under the ribbon too, or a baby hairbrush etc. Does anyone use a baby hairbrush though? LOL

You are mad

But its fab! I want one!

Get some funky muslins from Ikea and add them! They are unisex

OOOOH I luuuurve it!!!!!

How hard was it???? My best friend is due in March and I might turn my hand to a nappy cake for her

Haha yeah... adding gifts are the next step and I need to go buy a teddy tomorrow to put on top. Also want to buy a cake board to put it on but apparently they don't exist in gold! Need to get it done by Friday, eek!

Pilkers... was easy enough. Just rolled the nappy from the waist to the bottom and secured them with an elastic band. Then put them together with a bigger elastic band. I totally underestimated the amount of ribbon I would need, though. Got 3m and needed closer to 5 between the bits round it and the bows.

Have spent about £5 so far and will spend another £5 on the pressies so not bad all in all!
