If you have a 10lb baby is it loads more painful than with a 6lber? Or is it going to hurt the same no matter what?

I had an 8lb 9oz baby and the pushing was not that bad to be honest..it was the stitches after that hurt!!

Brooke was 4lb when she was born and Olivia was 7lb 4oz, it still hurt as much! There wasn't any difference!

It must be harder to push a 10lber out tho i struggled to push Olivia out

I heard the head is similar sized whatever the weight of the baby, and that's the only bit that hurts to push out so it shouldn't matter. (don't shoot me - that's just what I heard. Maddie was an average 7lb 8oz, had a normal sized head :D and she was my first so I have nothing to compare her to)

But the pushing bit isn't bad anyway - you really don't care about the pain as you're so close to the finish line you just want to meet your little one.

I don't know if labour is more uncomfortable with a big baby??

my first was 8lbs 13oz, 2nd was 8lbs 10oz, at the end of the day, its the head circumference that causes the pain, if their heads and bodies were hugely different id imagine it would hurt more, but eblinx i agree the stitches hurt a damn sight more

My first was 6lb 11oz and i had quite an easy labour but i did tear quite badly. Aimee was 8lb 11oz and her head was over 3cms bigger and although i did find it harder to push her out i think thats just cos she was facing the side but i didn't tear at all, not even a graze. Don't think her size made that much of a difference.

Olivia came out facing sideways too, she decided to turn at the last minute and got her shoulder stuck behind my pelvis

mine were all quite small (7lb, 7lb 1oz and 7lb 5oz) and they all hurt just as much,

nathan was 10lb 3oz the labour was painfull but not as bad as i imagined but the pushing was awful!!! everyone i spoke to before he came along said the pushing was easier as it gave you something to do but not for me it was a killer only the threat of forceps spurred me on. he was my first so i dont have a comparison most people say the bigger the baby the easier the labour ha ha ha is all i can say

That was the worst bit for me!!!!

But i pushed for 1hr 30 mins and Ellis head was huge!! hehe xxxx

Giving birth to Zack (9lb 10 and 1/2oz) was much more painfull than giving birth to Elora (8lb 11oz) I dont know if thats because I was induced first time though  but it really burned when I gave birth to zack. Second time wasnt so bad.

all mine have been different weightsand i can honestly say its painful no matter what. the contractions aren't any less painful.
I don't think that the pushing out bit is painful as such. I found pushing out my rachael who was a 10 pounder to be more hard work than pushing out the others but no more painful . :)

they do say if ur induced the pain is worse as its a forced pain isnt it. i was induced and alfie was 8lb 3, to me that was huge as am only 5 foot 3 and weigh 9 and a half stone but i will be honest i was so tired by the time id pushed him out that i was almost asleep which i think was quite good really because before that i just kept mumbling that i didnt want to do it anymore could i come bk the next day. its fine and all forgotten very quickly, in fact afterwards u start to believe that u enjoyed labour,

it was not too bad pushing but the time between 8 and 10cms re the worst cause you feel like you want to push but you cant

Dior was 5lb 5oz and Harley was 6lb and with both i felt like i was close to death unbarable and put me of for life. it was hurendous.

with Dior i had an epidural it was great and the only thing that made me go through with another birth. but after not being able to have a epidural with Harley i am never ever taking that risk again

i could never imagine pushing for hourd though like some do  1
as soon i was told i was ready to puish they both came out in 3 - 5 pushes

I had a 10lbs 10oz baby - but I don't really have anything to compare it to.
Plus I was induced, and had an epidural....so I dunno if I can help you out really. She did get stuck whilst I was pushing and I ripped horribly because they didn't do me a big enough episiotomy. That really sucked.

I wasn't pusing for long but i have nothing to compare Aaliyah to, only given birth once lol. She did get stuck coz if her size but I still wasn't pusing for long.

i had a 36 hour labour but was onlypushing bout half an hour :)

36? i thought i had it bad with 30 hours!!! yikes...

I'm still gutted that my 6 / 7 lbers came out the easy way (section) but I had to push 8lb 12 out. Sods law if it is easier with smaller babies.
