all the good names are taken?

All the names I really like are already in the family, or within our close circle of friends, me and hubby can't come up with any names we agree on ... our baby is going to get called oi!

Yup!!! When I was younger I loved the name Corey - I have a nephew called Corey. I also used to love the name Isobela - I have a niece called Isabelle (plus my friends new baby). I loved the names Lily, Ella, and Amelia - 3 of my cousins apparently also loved those names!!

I found that a lot of favourite boy names OH said 'oh there was this footballer who played whenever and blah blah....' instantly turned me off the name. His whole family is football annoying so it's just urgh! I refuse to have a name that's going to be associated like that lol

Oh God yes - it doesn't help that OH has about 30 first cousins and loads of them have had kids in recent years....

Some names I love have been discounted as his counsins have babies of that name.

Also OH's bro and SIL had a little girl in May and used a name on our list (they didn't know!!)

See our families haven't had baby in a long time (mine 13 years, his 18 years) but lots of friends have already had kids

My DH is a teacher (in a college) - and loads of names get discounted on the basis that he taught someone called that and they were a little "£$%

He discounted one based on the fact that he knew there was a porn star called that too

He has discounted every single name I have come up with so far, apart from one which I like but I'm not in love with

Our child will be nameless

I have a name already picked for my dog (whenever DH decides I'm allowed one ... which will be when the baby is 30!)

I have a name I love (and have picked since I was in my early 20's) for a girl, but DH isn't keen

Yes!!! So hard! Me and my friend were actually talking about this. All the good names get taken. I don't think there's any harm in naming your child the same name tho, aslong as there not going to be around each other...!!
Theres 3 Amy's in my nieces class at school. Doesn't seem to bother her.xxx

We got 2 cats only about 6 months before I fell pregnant and used our favourite names on the cats...was gutted when we started trying and realised I couldn't really call my baby after my cat!

I've not had this problem as we are the first to have a baby in our immediate family. My cousin and his wife had a baby recently and thankfully didn't use our name, my other cousin is due a month or 2 before me so again hoping that one of our names aren't used.

I love Ruby if I have a wee girl... And quite happy with that...
And have picked Cameron and William for a boy... William is very sentimental to us... So if it's not used as a 1st name it will be a middle name...xxx
