Do you turn all of your switches off at night time?

 OMG thats a really high bill! Get yourself one of those electricity monitors, we got ours free, just rang up and asked if we could have one and they said yes and posted it :yay:

how do they work? sorry if i sound silly! omg i know almost wet myslef when i saw the bill and cos oh pays he wasnt too impressed! i think it was kind of my fault as i had used the tumble dryer LOADS as we dont have a garden or a line! just a shitty balcony that gets dusty and dirty from the wind!! lol

The only thing i leave on is the fridge. everything else is off at the plug. it saves a heck of a lot of money

I have the pay as you go meter and I love it, I couldn't imagine having a big bill like that :faint: I would be surviving with a scrubbing board, mangle and candles lol x

last night everything apart from the frigo was turned off!

I turn thing off like mobile charger etc. my OH doesnt and blame me when I do it in the day the next day for his phone being flat well sorry I don't like wasting electric on a charger thats NOT being USED  I turn my laptop charger off when I'm using it on battery. I'm gonna start turning my TV off at the wall and things like internet, dvd, sky box. Unless im recording something. I do leave my Microwave etc. plugged in but I cant get to the switches to turn my tumble drier and washing machine off at the wall. Lights I rarely use even when I'm up cause I quite happily sit in candle light xx

We turn everything off downstairs, leave a landing light on and i leave my phone on charge at night, thats about it

When the weather's crappy I use clothes horses to dry my washing, you can get them cheap from Wilkinsons etc :) I also bought a cool indoor airer which you screw onto one wall and pull it out to fix to hooks on an opposite wall when you need it, which you could use overnight.....I haven't got round to fixing mine to the wall yet though!!

thanks hun! we have a clothes horse but oh got the smallest 1 physically possible! =( gunna get a bigger one asap!

I turn everything off, except for the tv etc, but that's only because if I turn that extension lead off the sky box takes ages to load up lol, oh and the freezer and fridge too lol

But everything else off, I have a fear of fire, like irrational fear. I even have to come downstairs when I'm half asleep to make sure the cooker is defo off.

I had a dream once the bed was on fire and jumped out and started trying to put it out. OH was like WTF are you doing lol

Oh, i leave the landing light on these days but that's just so I can see Oscar when he wants fed!

Yes, everything that is electrical barring the fridge and kettle is turned off before I go to sleep. It's the last thing I do before I go to bed.

I do it for two reasons; firstly that I have a really trigger about fire and secondly because I can hear the high pitched whines everything makes on standby and it stops me sleeping.

I also turn everything off before leaving the house if I go out.

I turn most things off but our talk talk hub thing broke last month and was apparently due to it being switched off and on again too much!

Same :) Me and OH actually had discussions over having to leave it on! :wall2:

Lounge, Router.
Kitchen, Fridge freezer
Bedrooms, Baby monitor, alarm and phone charger if needed.

OH is serious about turning things off, he's made me paranoid. So paranoid that I hate going out and leaving the slow cooker on (very rare that happens!)

I could never leave the slow cooker on when I go out. Mind you, I can't even go to sleep with the washing machine on just incase. I am unfortunately someone who can imagine the very worst happening instantly and it just eats away at me until I go turn things off.

Oh is it not okay to leave the slow cooker going while im at work ?

I don't know to be honest, I'm just that paranoid that thinking of leaving anything on when I'm out brings me out in a sweat.

I've always been this way with plugs. Don't even get me started on what happens if there's a thunderstorm or if the power trips!

Thank you :-D

I have! One of the electric circuits in my house fried and kept tripping. I rang my Fiancé at work in the middle of the night just so I could have him assure me I wasn't going to be burned to a crisp. Ahh rational thought.
