Was getting excited at prospect of TTC had appointment with doctor to get coil out this morning but she could not find the strings they've disappeared into my cervix (sorry if TMI).... I now have to get a scan to make sure its there and then an appointment at Gyny clinic to get it removed - she said looks like you have to wait another couple of months!!! GUTTED ..... why does it have to take 2 bloody months to just get a scan and the damn thing out?? Oh she said they have to do scan at x-ray dept and then Gyny is another dept but she said will try to speed things up with referral to both ....aaaaarrrrgggghhhhhh snot fair

Oh honey, Im so sorry! :hugs: 2 months is a very long time to wait :( Is there any way you could go to A&E and say you've been having pains and you're scared something is wrong? They may treat you as an emergency then and do it straight away?

Sorry to hear that hun,

Good advice Naomi, not a chance I'd wait 2 months, I'd try and get a second opinion or demand to be seen sooner!

Hope you get things sorted xx

If A&E turn you away, you have only wasted some of your time, so I would say it's worth a try. Good luck!

Aww sorry to here that Hun!! I'd go to A&E too!! You never know they may send you to get it removed straight away!!

xxx

Aaaw hun  I feel your pain. I started the ball rolling with my docs back in June as I've not had an AF since stopped taking the pill in January. I've recently found out that my specialist appointment isn't likely to be until Mid-November. It's all so frustrating isn't it? I'm half tempted to go private with it but don't see why I should have to fork out for it when I pay my national insurance. Pft!xx

Sorry you're having a hard time Tracey - i'd try being sneaky too, two months of waiting is rediculous

why, oh why do I then go to Google???? OMG I'm now panicing that coil is imbedded in uterus and can cause infertility etc.... I did email my doctor back yesterday afternoon asking if she could mark it as "urgent" to make waiting time shorter but she did not reply.... Looks like they have to dilate the cervix to get it out so can be under local or general anasthetic - eek!!!!

:ignore: I'm sure that's not it!! That sounds extreme! Don't look at Google

I thought about the coil when i was younger but the idea did terrify me, there seemed to be so much that could go wrong, it must be really scary. The others are right you need to lie and say it's hurting you, even if it is your own doctor.

My husband is asmatic and his doctor wouldnt listen when he kept telling her that his inhaler wasnt having much effect. So after a bad couple of hours in bed wheezing I rang the out of hours doctor, took him into the out of hours clinic where they gave him some oxygen and booked him an appointment to see his doctor the very next day (they normally make you wait days and days at our docs), suddenly she was taking him seriously! When he went to the appointment the next day she was suggesting all sorts of things to help that she had never mentioned before! Maybe try that? Maybe ring at night and say it's hurting? You could have it out within the hour!

My doctor has referred me for blood tests after I told him the gynaecologist I saw at a+e for my problem earlier this month told me to ask for testing. He did actually tell me to ask so maybe it was on my records or maybe not and it just got the ball rolling. Good luck with it. Don't wait a couple of months!

xx
