We have been discharged from the midwife now after 10 days.

So does the health visitor contact me or do i need to ring the surgery, and also what is their approxiamte schedule of visits?

Thanks.

Sandi

Yep they'll contact you usually. It's really up to you how often they visit. Mine did weekly for 2 weeks or so, then 2 x fortnightly and now we just see the HV at the clinic if we want to go.

I saw mine twice within the first two weeks, then after that it's been up to me if I need her for advice, etc.

Yeah, same. My MW came twice im the 1st 10 days. Then the HV came once a week for two weeks. Then I was on my own.

I take LO down to the clinic every two weeks to get weighed - because I need to know his weight to know how much reflux medicine to give him.

My HV contacted me, you shouldnt have to contact them.

We got a letter from ours telling us a time and date they would come to do the first visit :)

I got called before i was discharged, she came the day after. Then she came for the 6 week check. That's the only dealings i've had with her. Unless i was lucky and she was in the weigh-in.

I saw HV from day 10. Saw her twice the first week, once the next week then once every two weeks until Evie was 11 weeks. Now we go to clinic if we need any advice (or on here! :D ).

You may be 'discharged' earlier as my HV visited more often because she was worried about my PND

They contact you, It really depends on your situation asa to how many times you see them.

Im seeing mine quite a bit because i have PND and she is very supportive

my hv phoned me to come and visit i saw her twice at home in the space of 2 weeks then when i got willow weighed there was hv there vary rarly saw my hv though and i beleive she has left now so dont actually have one just the ones at clinc.

Mine called me a few days after MW discharged me. So around 14 days.

She came out once a week for 6 weeks. Sometimes twice. I had some health problems and could not get out to her or anywhere really for a fair while.

Once I got to 7 weeks I tried to start attending the HV clinic (weigh LO and also meet other Mums and babies etc for a couple of hours). Been 3 times now and Galen is 11 weeks old. Shall keep going once a fortnight just so I can get out of the house for a bit with him.

I guess I got/get more home visits than normal and also she is prepared to come visit now if I can't get to the clinic.

Saw mine before the birth so I could meet her.
Then at 10 days, then a week later and since then i've been going to the weigh-in clinic. She did see me at 6 weeks and because of PND she is coming back on the 12th August to see how I am.

She suggested I go to the clinic weekly so that I can get out, meet other mums and so I can ask any questions I might have. So we're off to the weigh-in tomorrow :)

mine apparently tried to ring me when she was 2weeks and 2 days then turned up but i couldnt see her so i saw her for the first time yesterday at 3 weeks 2 days, she's coming back in a week and then i hope she'll just leave us too it.

They asked a lot of questions about sleeping arrangements etc which i didnt really like tbh, apart from that, and suggesting i leave Tally to cry, she was very nice and she was very possitive about how we're getting on which was nice.

mine phoned up to tell me when she'd be coming. It was just before the mw discharged us. She visited once a week for 2 weeks and now we go to the clinic to get lo weighed and you can chat to a hv if you want to.
