i am absolutely crapping myself.. (excuse the language )

i didn't used to be scared of the dentist, but i've noticed the older i get, the worse i get. to make it worse, i haven't been in over a year my teeth are really rubbish, i know theres at least 3 fillings that will need replaced

my mum has a phobia of the dentist, she actually has to see someone about it because she couldn't even sit in the waiting room with my younger brother and sister

i know it's not a phobia, i'm jus terrified already though. OH has taken the morning off to go with me at least..

anyone else like this?

I have panic attacks just going for a check up so I know how you feel. I usually end up feeling really daft afterwards because it's never as bad as I imagine. I get worked up when I have to take George and he's not bothered in the slightest by them.

I went on monday and was expecting the worse! Since being preg I cant really brush my teeth as well as i should cus its just a bloodbath and I got a build up of tartar. I thought the dentist would go mad at me but she just polished it all off and they look much better now.

I thought i'd need a filling, but she said my teeth were fine, if she'd have said i needed a filling I wouldnt have had it tho, cus i dont think i could handle the stress of the injection (in my mind the worse bit) along with the pregnancy!

If you need any work doing tho hun get it done (unless your a wimp like me) cus its free while ur preggy and til bubs is one year.

I haven't been to the dentist since I moved just over 18 months ago.
Can't find an NHS one with places available up here, I dread to think what the dentist will say when I finally go!

I went this morning.
I HATE dentists, i've never had to have anything done to my teeth but i HATE having metal in my mouth, let alone touching my teeth - i always eat really carefully so that cutlery doesn't touch anything but my lips!

And so the dentist always feels like an ordeal to me as i'm worried they'd have to do something that would mean even more metal in the mouth!

Luckily for me everything was ok.

I hope your app goes well, take a deep breath and let your OH look after you. You'll be fine xxx

my dentist is always really nice as well

i will be brave and i defo would rather get the work done now than have to pay for it (costs a fortune!)

kiki - i hate the injections as well i've been scared of them since i had a tooth out when i was 15ish and he had to give me a few injections to numb the area.. when he pulled it out, i could still feel some of the pain

my friend goes to the dentist and doesn't even take the injections for fillings etc the thought is making me shiver

just to let you all know how i got on..

i went in and he said my teeth are looking great, didn't need a filling or anything, he just polished them and sent me on my way
