MsKittyCat- I live in Portugal
Congrats new Dec mummies! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.
Has anyone got any holidays planned? I'm going to Portugal in 3 weeks (11th May) which makes me around 9 weeks preg, i'm worried about sickness and tiredness really kicking in and the heat making me feel awful. I guess its not that hot though around 22deg in the shade. My partner and I are wondering about not going and losing our money. Would you go?
I really want a holiday but ideally in the 2nd trimester when all the sickness etc goes. It would be a nice break though, as his children are with their mum and my daughter is staying with my mum for the week.... don't know what to do, guess i have to just wait until the week before and see how i feel!?!?

Yep I'm away in May too I'll be 10 weeks hopefully. We are going to Turkey for 2 weeks. I'm very apprehensive too the thought of the travelling is the main worry especially if I'm feeling rotten. My sickness was at its height around this time last pregnancy. Also as I'm so scared about miscarriage I have all these thoughts going through my head what if I start bleeding whilst away.
My son will want to be in the pool all day so he'll have to be supervised (will def cause arguments between me and the hubby esp with my hormones) However he's just old enough for the kids club this year so I can get some naps in by sending him there.
We have to go as we are visiting family. If I am really sick I'll just camp out at my mother in laws and she'll look after me.
We normally go the end of August/September but when we organised it in January I was preggers and due August so going in May would have been ideal. After miscarriage I couldn't change holiday dates with my husband and colleagues at work had already booked over the usual time I go in August!!
If your your kid free a holiday sounds ideal even if your suffering with sickness. I would just lie on a sun lounger in the shade just stuffing yourself with all the crap you crave.
Xxx
I've little bouts of sickness so far but been ok last couple of days. I know next week it will full on kick in. I cant stand the heightened sense of smell.. eugh.. i remember it was awful with my daughter. Gosh i wouldn't want to be doing a 6 hour drive.
I am going to the Isle of White Festival when im 12 weeks too but on a coach/ferry, that's going to be a long journey! I hope they have a loo on board! I don't think i would have booked either had i known i would be preg, im not looking forward to the huge queue to get into the festival with my daughter.
Have you all been booked or had your first midwife appointment? Mine rang today for me to go to the hospital, i'm going just before my holiday at around 8.5 weeks. I read it can take an hour?!? My first with my daughter was only 15mins or something.

My sickness has been really different with each pregnancy so you might get of lightly this time you never know.
I'm trying to decide if we should do an early scan this time or not. Last time baby made it past 9 weeks before the MC so I'm not sure how much an early scan will reassure us.
