***December 2016 mums***

Our babies have always been keen to show off their bits for the scans but had more trouble in getting nice pics of faces, lol.

Ah I've struggled both times. My partner is 6' 3 and my daughter seemed to inherit his long legs!
She was born frog legged because she was squished lol this baby is going the same way. I've already been told she's got long legs lol both of their legs have been crossed all the way through.

Sorry ikklemoi I've never used a mamas and papas pram.

Mummywanabe I don't blame you using your sons bottles again.

Xx

This was how my daughter was born. Not sure if you can see but her legs were 'stuck' near her stomach. Like she always had them lifted up and crossed at the bottom. Xx

It took her a few weeks for her to fully straighten them.

This is a better pic actually.

I'm pretty sure this baby is exactly the same and that's why we can't check she's a girl lol xx

Thanks Hun, I think so to but I'm slightly bias haha

Yeah they get themselves into all sorts of funny positions in the womb lol I imagine if I stayed in one position for several month then I would find it difficult stretching out lol

I can't see your pictures Hun sorry xx

Ah I can see baby now :)
He's facing out I think. That's why it's not very clear as its not a side profile.

My 16 week gender scan was like that. Hopefully baby will move into a better position for you xx

The sonographer said that it was the way the placenta was, it wasnt making a clear image or something, but when i asked if placenta was ok she said oh yeah i think so but this isnt for medical diagnosis etc. Tbh i wish i hadnt of gone there it was a completely different experience from the scan we had done at a different place a few years ago with one of our little ones.

DS had super long legs when born and didn't fuly straighten them for a couple of weeks also. DD was the opposite. She kept her arms firmly clamped at her sides but kicked her legs loads from day 1. She had short legs. It never occurred to me there was a conection with long legs being more squashed up.

Ikklemoi I had to go to 2 places before I was happy. I wouldn't worry about your placenta. They will tell you at 20 weeks where it is.

Bunny my daughter was only 4lb 9 but was super long for her weight. That's what they told me when she was born. Because I panicked her legs would stay like that haha xx

Wow.. That's a good weight. Are you expecting this baby to be similar?

I'm hoping this baby will be 'normal' but I have no idea what to expect. She could be anywhere from 4lbs again to 9lbs as 7-9lbs seems to be average.

I've got growth scans booked though so I should have an idea later on.

Are you having growth scans? Xc

I was expecting him to be big but 11lbs was a bit of a shock, lol. All the babies in our family are large so I am sure this baby will be big too although I'm hoping maybe not quite as big. The birth was actually fine but I think his size put strain on me tward the end of the pregnancy. I wasnt diagnosed with GD but my MW suggested I follow a GD type diet anyway as a precaution to see if that helps. My 1st was 9lbs 5oz which isnt as big but still a decent size for a first baby and a girl. They threatened early induction with her as she was measuring large but I didn't think much of the idea so waited it out until she decided to come at 40+10. I'm thinking of skipping growth scans this time around as all it will do is get everyone worried and seeing as I didn't have problems with my other births maybe it is just best to accept baby is likely to be large :).

Your DD must have been so cute at 4lbs 5oz. DS never really felt like a newborn. Even newborn clothes were too small for him!

I can imagine 11lbs was a shock lol
Yes I was going to ask you about GD. I think you are programmed to have small, average or big babies. Everyone is different.
Larger babies are meant to be easier when giving birth as gravity helps them more. I can imagine towards the end that baby was putting a strain on you. I got to 37 weeks with a small baby so I didn't experience anything like that last time. I was very lucky.

They don't tend to induce big babies anymore, just small. Unless you are struggling. So you may be okay.

She was 3 months old before she was in newborn clothes haha I had a baby for ages. I was very lucky with her. Even though she was tiny we were able to come home the next day becAuse she was healthy.

My sisters little girl was 6lbs. And me and my sister were 6-7lbs. My mum, sister and me don't really get larger bumps so I think small babies run in our family. Xx

I get huge, lol. I already look 6 months pregnant now. I kind of l wonder if a bigger bump gives baby more room to grow.

My mum was 19, super skinny, following a macrobiotic diet and had no hint of GD when she had my brother and he was 10lbs so big babies do seem to be a thing in our family. I was 34 and overweight and over did the food a bit mid pregnancy after getting over rotten morning sickness. SIL also had an 11lb baby but she had GD.

Hey ladies I have fairly big babies too ds1 8lb2 ds2 8lb3 ds3 9lb 5 and ds4 8lb 5 I suspect this baby to be the biggest of them all even tho il be having him 8days early. I've finally bought a praM for him Ano it's still early so stored at my grandmas (she's really superstitious) xx

Are you tall Ikklemoi? I am tall and large boned and have a lot of super tall/large people in the family so I think although a 11lb baby really is a bit larger than expected a 9.5lbor even 10lb baby could be counted as totally normal for me so 11lbs isnt as big a jump as it would be for some people. I have a friend who is short and has tiny bones and she had a 8.5lb baby which I think is just as big proportionately.

No bunny I'm 5ft 3 so small really I'm size 12 so not that small bones at all with my first baby tho I was tiny a size 8 even at fullterm and he was 8lb 2 I just think a carry very big babies lol. Xx
