Do you ladies swaddle for daytime naps at all?

Chloe is getting worse and worse at fighting sleep during the day and her hands are the problem!! I haven't swaddled in the day so far as we saw it as part of her bed time routine and didnt want to mess that up as she goes down at 9 and sleeps until 6/7. But i just lightly swaddled her in a cellular blanket and she went out with in minutes!!

Any advice is much appreciated x

Sorry, didn't want to read and run, but have never swaddled my babies so don't really have any advice. However, if it's working, i'd say go with it!

Thanks my only fear is undoing her fab night time routine x

I've had this exact same problem with Angel it drove me mental! She was swaddled during the day and night and the only piece of advice is perseverance! She would mainly yank out her dummy and play with it but still wanting to go to sleep; that was the main problem. But what I did was put her in her crib and in her sleeping bag and just gently place her arms by her side and stroke them, not holding her down just gently guiding her arms by her sides and I back away after that and she usually goes down to sleep. It's taken a good 2/3 weeks to establish this but she's brill in the day now. xx.

Like you we only ever swaddled at night so she got o know that was bedtime, but she always slept ok during the day with just a blanket. We stopped swaddling at 10 weeks and moved to the sleeping bags and use them in the day and night.

She hates blankets and constantly kicks them off! Its soo hard isnt it as don't want it to cause issues with bedtime. Hmm.

Do you girls put them down at specific times for naps? At the moment we don't have a sleep routine for the day x

Do you do anything else for bedtime?? If you have a whole routine established - like baths etc, I wouldn't worry too much about one bit of it.

But I am just guessing. Xxx

We stopped swaddling F around 10 weeks as that was what some books recommended and F became a rubbish sleeper, day and night (fighting it did what lauren did, but she'd wake all night etc) so have give back to it on recommendation from maternity nurse who said providibg she gets her waking time unswaddled baby will let us know when she has had enough. She has no worries confusing day and night and now falls asleep by herself in less than 5mins without any upset. So after my ramble, my advice, if it makes you and your baby happy and you both get more rest, don't fight it, swaddle your Lo day and night if it works for you )

Fab thanks lettie! didn't realise they don't recommend swaddling past this point! But as you say it works and they will soon let us know if unhappy hopefully. Do you still swaddle her now Lettie?

We do give her a bath before bedtime also so hopefully she won't get confused. Will give her a light swaddle during the day for naps.

Thanks for your help and advice ladies x
