First day of using the reusables. So far his first nappy leaked- but I think this was mainly due to the insert coming through the top of the nappy. I would usually only change him before a feed (so ever 3-4hours) he was only going through8 nappies a day...is this how many nappies I should expect for reusables to or will/should it be more?

Aaaah, well done for using cloth nappies, I think they are brill. I have been using them for 5 years on my 2 little boys. I think u will have some accidents to start with, especially if u have a boy! 8 nappies seems quite alot to me, i prob use bout 5 or 6 a day, just make sure pants fit well, liner is secure and willy is DOWN !!!
Good luck, persevere, you will save loads of money and i think better for baby not having all those chemicals against skin xxx :)

im starting eith mine this week, probably wednesday tho cos im out a few hours tomorrow and not sure how long i'll be out yet

Bulky is a bit of a downside Kynon wears bigger clothes a lot of the time otherwise they kind of wick the wet out iykwim. I use about 5-6 a day just now. Keep practicing though, we've had a few mishaps here and there too x

I do think that they always look bulky, but cute! Clothes can b bit of nitemare, lots of turn ups on trousers as u need slightly bigger ones and they then end up being to long! Still love the nappies though, cant stand the smell of disposable nappies wen wet! xx

Yea I hate te smell too. Wellwe ad a few wet through but I think ts the way they were put on! So here's hoping tomoz is better!

Can I ask which cloth nappies you ladies are using? I have tried the mother care smart nappy system but the whole thing gets wet through :-(. Not impressed! Need a good recommendation really! X

We have used lots of different wraps over prefolds but I have just discovered gNappies which have a pop in waterprooh hammock type bit that the prefolds go into which seems to keep leaks in really well. They are uber cute too and don't seem so bulky. Also because the velcro does up backwards Owen can't pull his own nappies off which is a bonus
