Hey Guys

So I have a few questions.

I have been trying now for 2 cycles with 1 Chem and I have just started my third. I have only been monitoring cycle days and not charting. This month I decided to up my game and buy an OV kit.

Can you just help me to clarify a few things so I am getting the maximum chance of my a BFP at the end of this month:dance:

- Basal Temp: Do I take this in my mouth or my you know what? What am I looking for in regards to my temperatures?
- OV Strips: around what day do I start testing and am I looking for two clear lines?
- CM: whats the deal with this what am I looking for?
- Vitamins: I am currently taking 600 Folic, 20mg zinc and a vitamin b complex and drinking 2 litres of water a day. Any other tips?

Thanks!

Hi Tara,

I can't help with temping I'm afraid, but with the Ov strips, if you're using cheapies, you do them with afternoon urine, and your looking for a test line that as dark as the control line. They gradually get darker day by day in the lead up to ovulation! Then suddenly lighter after ovulation.

Vitamin wise, my nurse advised that I take 10mg of Vit D between Sept-March too as we get less sunlight between those months in the UK.

Hope this helps! x

Temping - you need a special thermometer that tracks temp to 2 decimal places. It's a basal thermometer - available on Amazon. Take it under your tongue. You wanna do it when you wake up in morning after your longest sleep. I just take it in early hours whenever.

Cheapie opks are between 10am and 5pm. Clear Blue digi ones are first morning urine. Ideally it should be as dark as the test line but for some people it doesn't get quite that dark - it's still a positive though if there is a clear surge.

I'd just eat well, keep caffeine low. I'm off alcohol and eating fruit and veg.

Vitamin C is apparently good for helping with O, but you need to take vit E with it. Also vit D is recommended.

Charting your temp is a great way to get an insight into your cycles. Its not the easiest thing to learn, but definitely worth it. Have a look at the fertility friend app.
