Just wondering at what stage people have introduced cups...? I offer Isla water from a bottle with every meal at the moment but would like to start putting it in a cup.

Is she too young? What cups have people used?

Thanks

I introduced a tommee tippee free flow sippy cup at about the same age, ella can do it herself now but needed some help at first :)

I give Oz the TT sippy cup thing too, he usually just tries to eat the whole cup, but recenlty has started taking water from it, and am really pleased that he seems to like water. I'm a big water drinker so hope he will be too,

I started with a cup as soon as I started weaning (so about 6 months) but it took him a while to get the hang of it, so I still gave him water/juice in a bottle until he could use his cup, as he gets constipated quite easily xxx

Lizzie has started holding her bottle herself now so I'm thinking about introducing a cup soon. I don't give her water that often though, and am a bit reluctant to mess about with her milk feeds, so I might leave it a tad longer :)

Tegan started with a cup at about 5 months she now has a few sips with every meal x

Noa don't like his one so I bought a little one that he can drink out without a lid (just like a normal glas but small n plastic) n he happily drinks from that but I have to help him hold it.

i started trying amelia with a cup at about 3-4 months she only just starting to take some x

I got Herbie the free flow one but he just soaks himself so got him no spill open and he can't get it out?
He was about 6 months when I started with every meal I've try him with a normal cup but he just spits it back out.
And he still Wont hold his bottle think he's a lazy boy that knows mammy will do it lol

i just strip amelia off and if she gets wet she gets wet lol x

Same problem here - free flow one with 3 holes is just too fast for Isla and she can't get it out of the no spill one.

Anyone know if there's a free flow cup out there with just one hole?

tommee tippee ones have 2 holes and amelia has got he hang if it eventually ha a lot of waterings though x

Ella has now mastered drinking without spilling but she has also mastered blowing raspberries with a mouthful of water......

haha Isla does that with food along with sneezing!

Devon has had a cup from 3 and a 1/2 months age as he wont take bottles of my expressed milk!
I go to see take that with the girls next week, so we have been on big countdown to get him to drink Expressed my milk from the beaker for my hubby when I am away overnight in a tent, miles away!

We used it once a day to start with , but from 4 months we started weaning and now have just upped to 3 small meals a day so he has water with each meal, and has now really just cracked it and can hold himself and lift to mouth, for a few mins before dropping it all down him on one side!

The Tommie tippee from 4 months is good (two holes) and now he has got the best with the basics tommie tippe (dark blue cup, bright green lid, with thicker spout) less spillage.

fingers crossed for next week!
