Crisps

Guest
Slap my wrist I know, but Damien does like his crisps.
Can I give him the 12month Oraganix if I supervise him? Or is it the ingredients which are bad?

lol some one told me the blue smarties make them hypo???
my lil brother goes hyo after havin smarties.

not sure about them chrisps sami?

Dior has quavers, wotsits, snaps she has been havinvg them since she was 1.

This compares organix to other brands clicky

they have a lot less salt and saturated fat so I think they would be more suitable for Damien. If he is already able to eat crisps I can't see why he wouldn't be able to eat them. I tried Seren with a couple at Urchin's house and she was fine, my only issue with them is that the bags are normal sized and one of those would last ages so they would go stale.

Yeah we were told about smarties at our baby group and told if family members wanted to buy sweet treat for our babies to aviod smarties cause they have a lot of E numbers and instead go for something like chocolate buttons cause they are just chocolate and not colouring and additives.

As for crisps I think its okay, just make sure that they do not consume more than 1gm of salt a day in total (if under the age of 1) or if the pack measures sodium instead of salt then no more than 0.3gm as this is higher in salt than salt itself. Any more than this and their immature kidneys cannot digest it and can result in kidney damage.

Yeah I like these ones for Brody, they have really helped him get used to finger foods.
I have also given him the odd chocolate button, his little face lights up!

Personally I won't be giving him smarties yet, I don't even like Mason having them too often.

Aimee has tried organix and she really liked them! Have given her the odd quaver too which she loves but wouldn't give her more than one. I was very naughty yesterday and gave her a small piece of Jessicas birthday cake. As you can guess she loved that too!

Ella likes the Organix carrot things and rice cakes :) I thought that normal crisps would have too much salt and I personally wouldn't start Ella on them until she was older, but it's a personal decision :D

I am naughty to as I gave Seren a wee taste of my muller rice (am addicted to them but it has to be original yum yum). She loved it but I am too greedy and didn't let her have anymore haha.

Kina I got some of those carrot ones today, Seren loves them and so do I

I give Damien a bit of pretty much anything within sensible reason. Crisps, bits of cake, my toast, biscuits (naughty me), but all in small quantities. He loves his snacks and finger foods. Thanks for the link Beanie :D

I gave Rubie half a skip once then panicked all day because I thought I had poisoned her with salt (I'm obsessed with salt for some reason  )
I know it was irrational, I'm sure the bloody hormones are still playing up

:rotfl: Me and DH are the same, don't worry!

 i went to tesco today and instead of getting the normal crispsi i got her organix ones, she threw them on the floor.... she was not impressed! lil bugger

LOL Dior! Bless her, girl knows what she wants! I'd prefer quavers anyday

I've never given Lydia crisps. I, too, am obsessed about the salt thing. I wouldn't even give her a salt and pepper aubergine at the chinese restaurant we went to the other day because it had salt on it lol.

For snacks I buy Organix organic rice cakes:
http://www.organix.com/products/babyFoo ... /index.cfm
they're kinda like snack a jacks. Lydia loves them. She's not tried the plain, but she loves both the orange and the apple flavoured ones.

If I'm eating ice cream though, I will give her a taste. Same for chocolate. Same for yoghurt. Not a lot, just a little bit - maybe 2 tsps (for yoghurt or ice cream), or 1 square of chocolate.
To be honest it's pretty rare though that she has that kind of stuff - maybe once a fortnight.

But the organic rice cakes she has maybe 4 daily (that's 4 ricecakes, not 4 packets!). They don't seem to contain anything fattening or sugar or salt or anything, so I figure they're okay.

are thye not meant to have yoghurts??? I give Ella the petis flous fromage frais and she loves them (so do I :) ) I thought they were allowed yoghurts when they were 6 months??

oh I think they are allowed to have yoghurts...sorry I should have clarified...it's just that I eat the low fat kind that have aspartame in. I'm not sure whether or not THOSE kind are allowed, but I give Lydia a spoon or two of mine if I'm having yoghurt because she seems to love them. Esp. toffee flavoured.

Don't worry I think regular yoghurts are fine ;) Even the low fat kind MIGHT be fine, it's just that I'm not sure about them.

ah right thanks hun, I was worried I shouldnt be giving it to her. And Ella loves them. But I always secretly hope she doesnt eat it all so I can finish it off yum yum.
