I totally agree with you here. It's the same in China, by the way. They want boys because they're only allowed one child (government policy), but do they realise where those children have to come from? Nooooooooo

which is why the ratio of boys to girls in china is something like 3:1 which will eventually lead to greater social problems such as an increased demand for prostitution etc....

Great! And all this because they are afraid if they have a daughter she will neglect them and fail to support them once she's married

Well if women were given equal rights and treatment in regards to education & employment anyway, there wouldn't be a problem would there?

In fact, it could be quite the contrary " A daughter's a daughter all your life, but a son's a son til he takes a wife!"

Thats shocking.. you either get left aside as a baby or used by men when your older Its always about money..

This has been in our local paper, apparently its not true. The hospital has confirmed that they have been in to see both girls regularly, and are waiting to take them home but they can't as they are too small at the mo. Apparently the mother is very distressed by the claims and that it was an unsubstantiated rumour.

I don't know what the true story is but if what the local paper has said is true can you imagine how horrible it must be to not have your babies with you and then have to hear all the condemnations and accusations. If it is true then they don't deserve to have children but if its not I really hope they have their daughters home with them soon.

I too have read that it isnt true!
But you do wonder where the stories come from in the first place?
Maybe they did mention or were upset that they were girls but it got blew out of proportion? IDK
