countdown to baby boy eek!

Hi guys, decided to start a new thread for the countdown to my baby boy. Basically today I am 1 day past due date. ( baby due 28th oct) yesterday had a sweep off midwife but couldn't quite get end if finger in to do it properly so she jiggled round cervix to hopefully release some hormones and get things going. Not very pleasent mind! I've got an induction booked for thurs 5th Oct if no sign of him before then, requires me going into hospital the night before to prepare.

Through the night been getting some mild period like cramping on and off, not sure if that's just a side effect of midwife rummaging around yesterday or the start of some early contractions. I hope it's the start of something. Got a pregnancy ball to bounce on which I'm gonna do today and got pineapple to eat.

If anyone has any tips to bring this baby on before induction date that would be great. I really want to avoid being induced and hope he comes naturally himself. He's got 5/6 days left. Come on little man!

I had a pretty good sleep last night but the night before was horrendous. Think my mind goes into overdrive and keeps me up for hours. Starting to get a bit anxious and inpatient now ha ha. How u doing?

I sleep pretty well at the moment. I always get up once for the loo but it's rare I don't sleep right through. I'm very lucky. But I think nearly my due date it'll be a different matter. I've got a funny feeling I'm going to go overdue. And I really don't want to either.

Have you got a name picked out? How's your OH feeling? Xx

We haven't got a definite name yet but we've got a few favourites. We want to see what he looks like when he comes out first ha ha. OH is feeling exited and just wants him here now. He's still at work cos there's no point in sitting round home waiting. Plus he's self employed so doesn't get paid for days off. He's hoping he comes at the weekend ha. Have u got names picked?

We have two names, we're going to decide once we see her too. Don't blame your OH for going to work. I'm worried I'll call my OH out of work too soon and waste one of his days off. I've found this last part waiting around is the worst. Not knowing is a nightmare! Xx

Yeah I'm literally sitting around waiting it's so boring. There's only so much day time TV, cleaning and sorting u can do ha ha.

Been having contractions (well what I think are contractions) on and off all day. Really painful, lasting about 30 seconds when they come. Makes my eyes water they're that painful. Feels like extreme period pain, do they sound like contractions? Also lost a bit of mucus plug tonight. Having a bath now

Hi guys! He's here. It's all been a bit of a mental 48 hours. Basically what I was feeling were contractions. They came on thick and fast on the Thursday night. Tried to go to sleep after my bath but the pain was extreme then it felt like my water broke so rang hospital. They told me to see how I was in an hour and ring back. At half 1 I rang back and they said come in if I was struggling with the pain which was killing me. I can't describe how intense the pain was, just horrendous. When I got to the hospital she examined me and I was 9cm! They had to quickly fill up the pool, get me in it which was about 2.15am. With gas and air he was born at 3.37am. Everything went so quick I couldn't believe it! I'll put a pic on when I get on my laptop cos can't do it on my phone somehow. We named he james dylan. Weight at tiny 6 pound 1 .
