Hi Everyone
Ended up going to the hospital yesterday as I thought my waters might have started to leak and the baby didn't seem to be moving as much as she normally does so phoned up the birth centre and they asked me to go down to the triage dept in the delivery suite and be hooked up to the monitor and see what was happening. Got there about 1pm and was really anxious - my bp shot up to 150/101 (which always happens in hospital - white coat syndrome) so after checking my urine which was normal and checking my notes (bp is usually around 115/80) they were happy I didn't have signs of pre-eclampsia which was a relief. Was put on the monitor and lthey were happy with her heartbeat and movements (although I still only felt her move twice).
Midwife then examined me and said that she thought I'd had my show and that I was loosing a lot of discharge but confirmed that my waters hadn't broken, she then asked me whether I was getting any back ache or period type pain - which I wasn't at the time so she sent me home and told me I was still okk for the birth centre and that I would probably go into labour over the weekend.
Well since I got home about 4pm yesterday I have had nothing but constant back ache and can't get confortable at all - ended up sleeping in gaps of 20 -30 mins on the settee but then started getting contractions about 3am which meant sleep was not happening at all. Since then I've had tightenings/cramp all day but not at all regular until about an hour ago when I started getting pain every 10 mins or so - just hoping that things speed up a little now as I could cope with the pains if it wasn't for the backache which is absolutely horrid!!
What do you think ladies - could this be it?
********Just to let you all kow that it was indeed the start of my labour - Madison was born on 21st Oct at 00.04 weighing in at 6lb 13oz - will post my birth story soon - can someone let me know how to post a pic and I'll get some put on here*********
