Cough followed by chocking?

Hey everyone so Alisha is now 6months old and she has had a cough for 48hours now when she coughs its followed by chocking sometimes she brings some Flem up when shes does it and sometimes she does not and then she will get worked up and make herself worse.I feel so helpless and hate it when shes like this.Is there anything we can do to help her or to help break the Flem up,im wondering if perhaps she has a cold with a slight touch of hay fever its all started since the weather went from rain to sun.
We have a cal-pol vaporizer and also cal-pol for when she really needs it.

Maybe ask a pharmacist for advice on what's best for phelgmy coughs, there's stuff out there but Oz hasn''t had a cold that bad so wouldn't know what works best etc.

Thanks hun shes had some baby food tonight and some calpol she is now asleep she hasnt done any chocking since earlyer today (touch wood) this may be the end of the cold x
