Hey! No idea whether to go for a cot or cotbed?? Any advice?? xx

We have a cot bed, they last until they're around 4 years old as they convert into a small bed for toddlers. Worth it in the long term :)

We have a bedside crib co-sleeper for the first 6 months, and a cot-bed for after.

I just bought a cot as I knew as soon as he needed a bed I'd buy a cute funky boys bed sort of thing. Seen a really nice pirate ship so for me would of been a wasted extra. But if you want a normal bed then cot bed will save money xxx

The way I see it is baby will be in its cot until 2-3ish then we can convert it into a bed, but my mum is arguing saying ''but when you have another baby you will then need to buy another cot? My argument is, potentially I won't have another and defo not within 2 years(took nearly 2 years to conceive this one with pcos and a miscarriage) So then I will have an unused cot taking up space and have to go out and buy a bed anyway??x

For us we just really wanted a co-sleeper, and there's no way we would have fitted a cot-bed in our room for those first 6 months.

We've got a crib for whilst she's in with us then a cotbed for when she moves into her own room, I wanted something that would last a few years so hopefully this should

We had a basket at first, then a cotbed. Shes still in the cotbed now at almost 3 and I will be moving her to a proper single bed when my youngest moves from his basket to a cotbed at around 6/7 months.

Its a personal choice and whatever your comfortable paying?

For me, I had a crib, travel cot, moses and cot bed. Jackson was out of his cot bed at 1 in his toddler bed and he sleeps so much better in there, he was always climbing the cot and then when we moved I lost parts so I just got a toddler bed because it really isnt that expensive for a tiny bed

To some, who have kids or cant manage it they would buy the cot bed and keep it, thats also fine.

Next time round I will be buying a co sleeper/cot bed only and when it comes to 2nd baby needing a big bed I can buy bunk beds for the two of them.

xxxx

Since I'm sharing a 2 bed flat with my mum and OH, we only have a Moses basket the now and then once baby grows out of it we'll pass it down to someone or sell it and get a cot because we've joy got enough room for one or the other :( hopefully we'll have our own place by the time she's 2 and grows out of the cot! X

We've got a cot bed, we took one side off at first as she disliked the bars at 1 year old and didn't like being penned in. Best decision we made X

We have a cot bed, not been used yet of course but hoping it will give us a little bit of use x
