I've just been using cornflour to thicken a soup I'm making and it reminded me of when I was working at a nursery. We used to make up a mixture of cornflour and water and let the children mess with it and the weird properties of cornflour make it hard when you hit it or pick it up and then it goes runny. So I quickly made up a batch and DD and OH are both fascinated with it! Lol! It's such a great activity for younger children to get on with whilst you're doing something else!

yeah I love this, you have to see it to believe it don't you!

Absolutely! It's going to be one of my staple 'get it out for Seb whilst I'm washing up' games x

ooo i like the sound of this! whats the quantities? like, how much water/cornflour?

Errrrr I dunno x lol x enough to make the water quite thick, works best in a shallowish tray, if you put some water in the tray and then add cornflour, when the mixture feels hard to stir if you tap it quickly with your finger (the mixture not the tray) it should harden then it's ready x we used to put glitter and stuff in it and give the kids farm animals to play with in it

I would not leave my girls with a bowl of this! lol!

Spoil sport! Lmao! It's great!!!

We used to have it poured on a table at my old playschool, kids loved it, brings back great memories :D
