Consultant Appointment

I attended the maternity assesment at the weekend because I had some bleeding everything was fine after giving me an internal I was then sent for a growth scan as the midwife was little concerned with how small my bump is everything was fine sizes were perfect but ive been booked into see a consultant tomorrow afternoon i asked the woman on the phone what this is for she says everyone goes about 36 weeks. Is this true and what is this appointment for ? thanks

ive been booked in at 32 and 36 weeks for scans just to check on growth because the midwife was concerned with my BMI.. but when i asked another midwife she said they have most ladies in at 36 weeks.. ive heard consultants are hypocondriacts lol x

im under a consultant and have seen her a few times now she is lovely and very thourough i see her again in about 4wks time if you have had any complications they might just be eeping an eye on you hun which imo is never a bad thing or it could be norm for your area

I see my consultant at 36 weeks and my midwife the day after x I wouldn't worry too much honey x so glad everything is ok after bleed x

I've never seen a consultant with any of my 3 pregnancys so I dont think everybody see's one at 36wks ?

hmmm....I havent seen any consultants or had any extra scans! Ive not seen bubs since my 20week scan!!

Im sure the scans are only for precautions so they can check everything...

I wouldnt worry honey...

Some hospitals have different policies - i've seen a consultant but that because I had a breech baby measuring 4 weeks ahead also. Try not to worry - i'm sure if anything was wrong they'd explain it to you x

I'm under consultant care.. if you're lucky you'll get an extra scan I've had about 6 now so far. Nothing really happens in my appointments, they're just keeping a closer eye on me which is reassuring

Im the same, all together ill have 4 scans, 2 more to go at 32/36 weeks.. they want to keep an eye on me too.. which i dont mind, at least there looking after me and my little man x

thanks everyone i think its because i have been in and out the hospital so much with all different things and been for so many scans they have now referred me to a consultant i would refer me to a consultant aswell am such a paranoid freak this whole pregnancy lol x

It must depend on your area hun. Here everyone sees consultant at 36 weeks, at mine they scanned baby to check size and position and as everything is fine I will now see him again at 41 weeks, if I haven't gone before that

I never saw a consultant during my first pregnancy, I will this time as I ended up with an emergency c section.

just bk from seeing the consultant everything seems to be looking good. I explained to her i was a little confused why i was here she told me that at my 25 week scan the baby was measuring a little to big which could cause promblems as im soo wee but then he was measuring a little smaller at other scans which is quite confusing still dont really understand. She told me to come back on the 1st september (9 days before im due ) for a growth scan and if they are concerned wheter he is to big or too small they will start me off early wohooo i might have my baby a little earlier than i thought. x
