Confused which one to buy????

Ages ago Emily said she would like a Nintendo DS so fine was going to get it next weekend and put it away, i mentioned it yesterday and she said she couldn't even remember asking for it and wasn't that bothered

So me and Oh have decided she is old enough for a games console and would probably get more use out of it

Now this is where i am stuck which should we buy???

Ps2?
Xbox?

any halp from any of you with older children/ neices/nephews/ siblings
would be greatly appreiciated

well ps3 is coming out soon...and there is the new xbox 360 but they are also releasing a new one next year or so to compete with the ps3....Ild say if you get either dont get the old versions but a ps2 is always good i have always had playstations and rated them
and if you get an xbox get the 360 because in a years time getting the original xbox will be like having a sega mega drive lol...

We have an xbox 360 its oh's we havent found many sutible games for kids and my son has a playstation 2 i think that is best for the children because the variety of games is so extensive no matter what age of gender.

She has the skateboard, the bike (getting new one though), the rollerblades, she is always out and about, but thought this as nights are getting shorter and i don't want her out in the dark

Bless her all the games i have bought her for the PC are for her SATS and all educational!!!!!

Thought it was about time she had some fun same as her mates, mind you saying that me and Oh will prob be on it more than her as she loves arty stuff so much

Thats what i thought aswell Pam, from what i have seen there is loads more age suitable games for the PS2

hi OH has the ps2 and he loves it and there are certainly lots of game choices, the kids like the eye toy games which i think are good for co-ordination, but they have a gamecube in their room and the games on that are great and they love it (plus the games arent as expensive as some of the other consoles)

We have a ps2 and it's brill! There is a huge range of games for it so I'm sure she will love it. Xbox 360 to me is all racing games and shoot em ups. You can buy a little ps2 as well so it takes up no where near as much room as the xbox.
