Hi I was just wondering what peoples thoughts on this were as I am so confused!!

It was estimated (according to my app) that I ovulated last Thursday 6th April, although I wasnt really getting ovulation signs and I only had time to do 2 OPKs on the days before which both came up inconclusive. I didnt really have any EWCM. So we DTD Wed & Friday anyway.

Then yesterday I was getting some niggling pains on my right side of my lower abdomen and a lot of EWCM (more than usual), so I figured I might be ovulating late. However I did an OPK in the evening and it was a faint line and again, unclear. It my first month using OPKs and I have never really got a solid line. Anyway DTD last night as my sex drive was very high as well lol. DTD this morning too!

But worried I missed ovulation on Saturday maybe? We were camping and hiking in the mountains and I didn't have any OPKS with me lol.

I wish I didnt have to rely on OPKS as they just frustrate me and I only used three in the last week and I cant really make them out! There is just a faint second line. Should I be testing as often as possible?

Im just feeling now that we should DTD practically every other day to give us the best chance!

xx

I'm not sure evenings are the best time to do opks. Between 10am and 5pm is supposed to be the best time. I would trust your EWCM and pains more than your app. When you say ovulate 'late', what do you mean? Everyone ovulates on a different day. And for some women day 21 is normal. Apps get more accurate the more you use them, and the more opk info you put in. If you are going to use opks I would do them everyday until you get a positive. If you can dtd every other day then you have a good chance. I would also recommend temping as it tells you that ovulation has occurred. Also, if your CM goes white and sticky that's also a sign you have ovulated. Good luck!

Apps just go off what a normal cycle should be.
I ovuulted on cd 18 rather than the normal day 14. Ewcm is the best sign you can go off imo! Would dtd today and tomorrow. Gl :dust:

Thanks for replies ladies!
I wasn't aware that its best to do the OPKS between those times.
I am pretty sure now I just ovulate later than 'normal' and would have ovulated around CD24.
Great tips, dont know what I would do without this forum.xx

I have bought a basal thermometer and only used it a few times, but not doing it consistently. I need to get into the routine of taking it every morning and recording it!x

I ovulate on day 17-18 rather than the standard 14th day so wouldn't rely on what the app says.. I used to get ewcm about 2-3 days prior to ovulating, I used OPK'S and they always worked well for me. The month I conceived I had LOTS of ewcm at 4dpo, which was very unusual for me xx

I ovulated anything from day 11 to day 26, and my LP was 10 days instead of the average 14.

OPKs are best between 2 and 4pm as I understand it, when your body is hydrated. Definitely worth temping if you're unable to opk in the afternoon

Thanks for the advice ladies :-).

All being well we caught the egg this month, but if not Im going to start bringing doing more OPKS in the afternoon (will have to do it in work Mon-Fri and be as discreet as possible lol).

xx

Get yourself a little pot to wee in, keep it in your handbag and take your bag to the loo with you. Once you've dipped your stick, empty and clean the pot with some antibac, and dry thoroughly. Check your test after you've packed up your bag, if it's still wet, stick it in that little pocket on your bag. Go back out, and rummage through your bag a minute or two later and check your stick. Sorted :)
