Hi ladies,

For the past 2 nights my LO has been feeding on stop from around 6pm to 2am. She will latch, feed, fall asleep. Ill wind her then put her down and she will either be looking for more food or just nap for 20mins then start the process again. It's very draining!!

I read that I won't run out of milk, which is what I was worried about and tat the stage will pass.
Has anyone got any words of advice or wisdom? It really is disappointing as she has been feeding so well

xx

Hey, the same happened to me for about a week at the five/six week Mark. It's hard going but it will get better. Baby is just establishing milk supply, I tried other things like a dummy to see if it was a comfort thing but she wanted food. Use a good nipple cream after each feed so you don't get sore from feeding so much. It really does get easier, keep up the good work :)
Xx

LO is only 2 weeks xx

Thank you Jessie its tiring! I'm using Lanolin :) x

Big hug Hun the first six weeks is the hardest but it will get better. LO is trying to establish you supply at the moment and is also probably seeking comfort too. If you can hear sucking and swallowing, then LO is feeding.

You are doing a fab job. Xx

My LO did it from 6pm to 1am and has just started again now, he's fed for 40 mins got sleepy and just went nuts, so did the usual checks but he's just soo hungry again. So he's feeding again. I feel your pain hun. I keep worrying as you get told if they feed for more 40mins something is wrong. But he seems ok. X

In the early days they can feed a LOT to get your supply up. Don't worry about it, and honestly it will settle down!! Xxx

On my iPhone - so cant see tickers :(

Thank you for the replies, it's reassuring to know that others have done it! It is hard not to get frustrated with it but it beats getting up to make bottles I suppose?!
I'm hoping tonight she might settle down a bit but I'm not sure, she hasn't slept very much between feeds this afternoon so not overalls hopeful.

x
