Hi ladies,

So I'm getting impatient (it's our 10th month TTC) and I splashed out on one of the clearblue advanced fertility monitors. It's my first cycle using it and I'm currently on CD16. I've been getting 'high' results since CD 12, so this is my 5th high. Was hoping for a peak by now!

My cycles are usually 25-28 days, so I've only got 12 more days at best before AF comes, more likely 10.

This might sound silly but that doesn't sound like long enough to get a peak and then Ovulate before AF starts.
We've BD'd on CD 10, 12, 13 and 14. Was planning to last night but we went to a BBQ and 3 large Gins later, I was fast asleep!

Got an appointment with my GP on Tuesday regarding fertility, so might bring it up with him. But I didn't realise I ovulate so late! Usually we'd have probably given up by this point in my cycle... hopefully this is why I've never had a BFP yet!

Any experience or advice about late ovulation with short cycles would be very welcome!xxx

Keep going hun, I have had 6 high’s before I got my peak and you can sometimes even get more.
Hopefully like you said you haven’t caught the egg yet because you actually ovulate later.
Keep testing and keep DTD.
Good luck x

If I remember correctly from when I last used this (2017), it takes a few months for the system to ‘get used’ to your cycles and the more cycles you go through with the monitor, the more accurate it gets. Anyway, I believe that like you I have late ovulation and short cycles (24-25 days average) and the advice I was given was that you need around 8- 10 days from ovulation to cycle end for a fertilised egg to implant so as long as you have that much time; a doctor wouldn’t advise or prescribe anything to lengthen your cycles. Hope this helps?
