do i need to do it now that a peggy has appeared?

Or do I wait til its out more or what? Im scared of hurting him cos the gum next to the tooth thats through is v sore as that one is about to break at any moment too...

i waited till Willows first tooth was about 1/2 way out as i didnt want to hurt her gums in case they were a bit sore still.

My dentist recommended brushing as soon as the pegs appeared. We used the freebie toothbrush that came with the Bounty packs and to start with, my LO loved having her teeth brushed - I think the brushing action helped soothe the teething symptoms. Now it's almost impossible to get her to open her mouth for the toothbrush! :wall:

How about using one of these for a while til it's not so sore Jen?

We used the edge of a muslin with a teeny bit of toothpaste on for a start but that rabbit thingie looks cool and I guess it's kind of the same! :D

a wee tip would be to get 2 toothbrushes as he will want to play with the toothbrush so another would keep him occupied.

I would start straight away :D

thanks guys.

I think i will start straight away but use one of those rabbit thingys or some muslin at first cos his gums do look v sore.

we have one of these

Its a soft silicone finger toothbrush. I've used it since lil miss has started food.... it massages her gums too and she loves it... she goes all weak kneed and coos... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Same as squiglet. It's great as it goes on your finger, although be warned it gets dangerous the more teeth they get! :rotfl:

oooh.. me too,

I was wondering about this too Jen, we've had a potential toothy for a while but its looking like its about to break through...

I got mine from my post natal group. We had a season all about babies teeth and the woman running it sold them.
But if you do a search for 'finger toothbrush' a few come up (sorry not sure if I was allowed to link it!)

I've got one the rabbits and they're fab. You put your fingers into the 'ears' and use them to massage gums and teeth.

It was only acouple of quid from Toys R Us.
