Since Saturday Oscar has struggling with my let down- he has to come off the breast every minute or 2 and catch his breath- he's gulping air and getting in a right tizz

He had a tongue tie operation on Friday and I think this has caused the problem?

He screams in agony with trapped wind etc - I keep him upright, do all the burping etc but I'm concerned he and handle the flow off my boob

Has anyone had any experience with this? I am worried I'll have to go to expressing and bottle feeding as him choking on the boob isn't doing him any good :(

My lo always found my let down a struggle in the first weeks, now my supply has settled and hes learnt to cope with it better. He still occasionaly chokes but not as much as before. Try expressing a little before feeds and burp him regularly during. Fingers crossed it will settle down for you x

I used to let him get started then take him off when I felt the let down, catch the worst of it in a muslin then pop him back on. He wasn't overly impressed but it did the job. He became a pro at coping with it after a while though

Yes I had this with my lo

Either get the let down going take him off and use muslin to catch excess the. Pop back on or
Feed in a reclined position - that helped me massively just by lieing back slightly

Yea I'm feeding with him on top which midwife advised and that is a lot better

I can never feel my let down to know when to take him off which is my main problem - I've had no sore cracked nipples - no nothing which I was expecting with BF - I just have nips of steel! :/

Before u put him on try hand expressing a little off, this should stop your let down so quick, also let down is just fore milk hence the trapped wind xx
