Hiya i was just wondering if you ever caught chlymidia if it would stop you getting pregnant?

I'm not sure - depends how long u had it for I would think as it damages your tubes and such like.

U can have it without knowing so if u are worried I would go and get tested.

It can cause problems with the baby if u are pregnant and u have it.

About 7 years ago I had pelvic inflamatory disease through clymidia. I had no signs that I had clymidia until it was to late and it developed into PID.
I was told I would never be able to have children..........
I now have my 6 month old daughter sitting on my knee trying her best to get at the keyboard!

Chlamydia can't stop you getting pregnant in its early stages I believe but it IS dangerous to the unborn child. I think it's now commonplace for pregnant women to be tested for it.

However, if it is left to develop it can lead to infertility.

There was an outbreak of it when I was in sixth-form. Fortunately as the monogamous type I never caught it but several of my friends have ongoing complications to this day

Well im just scared i have it..
I got tested a few months back but i need it again so im going to buy one of them home testing kits from boots at the weekend

iv had it and i got pregnant on the pill! i mustve had it for AT LEAST 7 years too coz iv been with my boyf that long and hav been faithful. it mightve been 13 years if i caught it from my first lover! i had 13 and never used condoms

i had no symptoms, so the way i found out about it was the worst way possible- when my baby got it (in her eyes- she'd caught it during the birth )

luckily me, my boyf and our baby hav all been treated and are fine. and we are obviously both fertile we werent even trying for a baby!

so dont worry too much

get tested tho and treated if u hav it

Iv only used a condom with 2

my sister had it a few years ago didnt know how long she had it she only found out as her then boyfriend gave her genital warts she met someone else and had a daughter not long after so she was fine hun i wouldnt worry how long have you been ttc? make sure you get the all clear and if you dont get a bfp after a few months ask your doctor could you have blood tests to check your fertility xxxxxxxx

Iv been ttc for 2months now so not that long but sooner the better
How long should i be trying for before i should get a blood test? I hope it wont come to that tho!

apparently most doctors wont test for fertility till you have been ttc for at least 1 year hun but its early days for you most people take a few months of actively ttc before they get a positive ive had 3 children so far and it usually takes about 3 months for me hoping this time will be the same there are some people on here who have taken a year to conceive their first and caught for their 2nd on the first month of ttc
its just the way it is i suppose its pot luck you can always increase your chances a bit by making sure you know when you are ovulating (charting temps and using ovulation predictors checking cervical mucus) at least that way you will know you are having intercourse at the right time of month and not missing ovulation
