childminder/nursery fees

hi just wondered if anyone could help.

my boss is looking into the child care voucher scheme and asked me how much child minders were. well i have no idea as alex is looked after by mum & mil - but i said i knew plenty of people who might know!

would be really grateful ( or my boss would!) if anyone could let me know how much they pay their childminder or nursery. am looking at both full time and part time so all experiences welcome!

I just asked my friend who is a childminder she charges £2.50-£3 an hour depending on the times.
They all charge what they like, she knows of one round here that charges £6.50

I guess you're better off asking around your local area as it may vary from place to place.

i pay my cm £2.50 an hour

The nursery my son goes too charges £28.00 for babies (under 2) for 8am til 4pm. (or £14 for a half session which is 4 hours)

For over 2's it £20 for 8am til 4pm (or £10 for a half session)

Then they can stay from 4pm-6pm if needed for £3.50.

There's me moaning about what it costs when its actually loads cheaper than others that have been mentioned here! Its a really good one too!

he also gets lunch and tea and mornin snack and afternoon snack in that and any milk he drinks

i know kim i'm reading this and thinking my god we couldnt afford that! we dont get any extra tax credit whether i work or not so we would be stuck if mum & mil didnt have alex.
