Does anyone know if there's any funding available to help with childcare costs when you're a student? I'm over 25. Thanks in advance.

It differs depending on the course you are on.

My friend is due to start and access course in Sept, however child tax credits won't give any extra money for childcare, so she has to fund it herself.

It totally depends my husband does 16 hours a week but when I get a job we won't get help and because he is out 3 days I'm struggling to find anything. Your best asking the collage you go to they usually have a finance team that will help you.

Thanks you two. I have emailed the college finance team so hopefully they'll get back to me ASAP :)

I know that the college here pays up to £130 per child per week depending on your income. Seeing as my income is non existent I'm hoping that's the amount that I'll get, and then I'll have to put any extra financial support I get towards it because my local crèche is around £167 a week!

But I'm cutting back on food shopping, still healthy nutritious meals but cutting out buying unnecessary junk.

At the moment I'm prepared to tough it out because I'm positive that in 4 years I'll be in a better position with a degree under my belt.

It's not going to be easy and I'm under zero illusion of that now
