Hello!

I'm worrying myself silly here...
This weekend I was unknowingly around chicken pox for a long time. The culprit was fine all day but went home with spots and today chicken pox is in full swing!
I've had chicken pox as a child, so I know it's unlikely to catch it again, but I've started having some pain and achy muscles. I know it's probably my belly growing and I've been having growing pains on and off, but it feels different.

I've tried calling my midwife just to double check that everything is okay but I haven't got through yet. Any suggestions on what to do in the meantime?

As you can't get hold of your MW you could call NHS direct for some clarification but you'll be fine as you've had it before. Try your best not to worry x

You should likely be fine as you've had it before. However if you are really concerned then your midwife/gp can check your bloods for immunity and they will do this willingly if you ask. I was around a lot of chicken pox a few months ago as I work with children but as I'd had it before I was fortunately absolutely fine :) x

Yep as ab says you can have a blood test. My lb had it a few weeks ago and no one could remember if I'd had it before so my MW added it onto my booking in bloods x

Thanks! The midwife is going to call me back this afternoon :)

Yes. Think it's fine if you've had it. I had one of my class get them before half term and even though I have had chicken pox, the deputy head moved him out of my class to the one next door just as a precaution.
