Chemical pregnancy or just period?

Hi all,

I was 4 days late to my period which is extremely odd as I'm on time every month like clockwork. On the Tuesday we had a very faint positive pregnancy test but yesterday I had started my period but took a test in the morning and had a negative.

Could my eyes been playing with me and it's just a normal period?

False positives are impossible. You were either pregnant or had one of the other reasons that cause hcg to be in the urine...but as you now get negatives, that's unlikely. So yes, I'm very sorry, I think you've had a chemical. I had one last cycle and think I'm having one now. It's awful but at least shows you can conceive. Xx

Thank you for your advice I really appreciate it. We are trying for our 1st and to be honest I am quite clueless and I've been trying to do some reading and research and you are right. I'm sorry for you to and I hope you are well. I'm trying to see it from a good point of view as silly as that sounds but it's still devastating. I hope you have someone who can help and support you to xxx

Thank you. This place is amazing for support and advice. If this is a loss again, it'll be my third and no children yet, so will hopefully get some investigations as I'm now 38.
