Hi ladies
I was just wondering whether you think I will need a actual changing bag or whether I can get away with a large handbag with lots of pockets?
Didn't know whether there was a huge advantage to some of the bags.
I love the leather ones but they are so expensive! and the normal equivalent is half the price.
What are your views and do you have one that is fab?
Thanks
Jo

You probably could get away with large handbag but I love my changing bag! It's from john Lewis and is pink/brown but don't think they sell it anymore as couldn't find it on their website :-( It has a separate foil lined zip compartment for keeping bottles etc warm/cold. It also came with a really useful travel change mat!

Hey,
I find my changing bag very useful, its just a boring black one for babies r us. But its got the foil pockets and changing mat, its very sturdy so keeps its shape when hug on my pram. I would recommend them chick xxxxxxxxxx

I don't think it matters. The only thing you will be missing is the pouch that keeps the bottle warm. I use me free boots changing bag, I bought a mamas n papas one but went back to this one as it's quite small but fits everything I need in x

I use my paul's boutique bag. It's a large bag, only has one pocket but it's perfect for what I need it for!

If i did it again, id just get a big normal bag. Ella's not bothered about warm bottles she'll have them however they come! and with a fold up portable changing mat that you can get from various places (i got a free one from a huggies pack) you would easily get away with a normal big bag :) x

yeah you could but you get a free bag from boots when you buy a pack of nappies so if you didnt want to spend much this could be your backup!

Thanks ladies, so maybe I can blag a nice new handbag from the other half by using the baby excuse!! Haha

I told my o/h I want a jimmy choo bag as my changing bag

I'd say yeah a handbag would be suitable for carrying things around ect, I know people who have done this.

Only thing is though - alot of the changing bags are waterproof lined inside, which is great if a bottle leaks or it gets put down on a wet surface. I was really grateful our changing bag was lined coz it was always getting put down on wet sinks ect (in toilets for changing)

:)

I have a the bag that came with the pram, I also have. Huge hand bag but find I need both for all the stuff o need to take out with me. I'd love a really fancy yummy mummy bag but can't really justify it.

I can't justify an expensive changing bag either, they're just another money trap lol!
