Or cat has started peeing in the house
I'm not sure if she has cystitis or something?

I have seen her in the garden, squatting for ages. She has peed a couple of times in the (currently unused) nursery, each time only a tiny bit.
I have cleaned the carpet and sprayed deterrent in there, but she's just done it again. Its not liked she's locked in, if she comes downstairs and asks (LOL) we let her out.

Why is she doing it? It's gonna drive me mad we need to get it sorted asap.

How old is your cat? one of mine started doing that when she got old..i don't know why but maybe she has an infection also cats are quite prone to tumours that can press on the bladder which means they cannot control when they pee! ;-9 hope kitty is ok..think it might mean a trip to the vet though!

first of all a trip to the vet to rule out medical reasons, then you could try a feliway diffuser, she could be a little jealous, they contain hormones which calm cats down, they work a miracle.

do you have a litter tray indoors? maybe try a covered one? xx

If she appears to be trying then I'd take her to the vet as she may have an infection or kidney problem or something else causing her to wee in the house. I'd not think she was suddenly peeing for no reason. Let a vet check her over.

Yep definitely a vet trip Im afraid. I had a boy cat with the same problem (he has sadly passed on now but nothing to do with the weeing problem I assure you!) he wasnt peeing properly, just tiny amounts, and he seemed very miserable, then one I noticed there was blood in the small amount of urine he had passed. He did have an infection, which was probably caused by stress (he had bloody escaped from the house on fireworks night and got stuck in my neighbours garden whilst they had a fireworks display poor little mite) his urine was crystalising and he had to have a catheter inserted, he was on medication and had to have special food for the rest of his life. So its definitely better to be safe than sorry!

You can get cycstits cat food at the vets. My salem used to get it.

Is there another cat bothering her outside? We have terrible trouble with my cat peeing on the inside front door mat and no matter what I do, he keeps on doing it but I think that the problem is that he can see cats outside which come up to our front door and have a sniff about. My next plan is to buy some frosting to obscure his outside view.

My two year old male cat has had two bouts of cystitis in six months, probably caused by stress according to the vet. One of the things he does when suffering is pee elsewhere in the house! As they associate the litter tray with pain while trying to pee, they do it elsewhere. Take your kitty to the vet - they'll probably want a sample and will ask you if there's been blood in it, etc. There's a urinary food which my cat has been put on, plus supplements like seraquin and cytease that can help further episodes of it! Also try and encourage your cat to drink more fresh water, I do this by putting random bowls of it around the house, it works a treat and he drinks a lot more this way. Other symptoms include squatting but not peeing, scratching in little tray more, grooming their rear end, crying or yelping when trying to wee, when weeing only doing small amounts, blood present and weeing elsewhere. Hope this helps!

cheers I booked her in for monday morning :)
