Hi,
This is my first time, please be kind to me! javascript:emoticon('')
My wife's got about 5 weeks to go and our cat has begun to behave really oddly. javascript:emoticon(':?')
He follows her round like a lost lamb, he won't leave her alone.
When she was first pregnant he seemed intent on guarding her, even before the pregnancy test was positive.
We're wondering if anyone else has experienced this and was the cat predicting imminent labour?

first off - hello and welcome!!!
animals acting strangley, my mother-in-law beleives this to be so as her dog has become very protective over me! and acting strange when im around. My own pet dog ive not noticed any change - but i think animals can easily pick up on a pregnant woman and feel as there part of the pack to protect thier young as such!
dont know if its science tho lol

Cats are really protective of pregnant women, particularly tom cats.

My female cat has started recently acting very strange, i have 3 months to go and she keeps rubbing herself against me and licking me, even biting me (friendly biting) aswell especially on my shoulders, near my neck, and my hands and arms...
The male cat has become very loving and won't leave me alone at night, keeps putting his face up to my cheeks and purring at me when im in bed... Both never did this before i was pregnant.
