The safest seat for babies to be in are rear facing seats so pay no attention. I have 2 friends with babies, 1 of which is 1 year old and the other is 11 months and they are both in their newborn car seats still. The only reason my LO isn't is because he's really tall and his head was over the top of his newborn seat.

hey emma is the same age but 17lbs. we are still in newborn (the same seat!)

she is very cramped and can wriggle her way out-ish but we are staying put until she is the full 9kg.

very cute btw

Hunny ignore them she's tiny and been poorly as well even if she's in it over a year as long as she's safe that's all that matters!!! IMO she's not big enough yet esp as she only just learnt to sit xxx

Your LO looks really comfortable in her car seat so I would ignore then hun x

It doesn't matter about age, it's about weight and size. She looks pretty happy to me!

She looks fine to me :) and even though she is 'the right age' doesnt mean she has to be moved to the next size.
Its all about weight and size. Its safe to be rear facing :)

Thank you been pooing my pant (trying to be polite!) I been doing it all wrong she just got a high chair and still needs the new born head support ect glad im not a bad mum after all!

It's not about age or size! It's weight and support! Ur daughter needs to be able to sit unaided for 20 mins and be 20lb in weight before you even consider a forward facing car seat! Ide like to see there babies try and survive in a crash! God forbid!

Oh and ide just like to add YOU are not the bad mum! Some people just don't realise what damage they could do!

Agree with the others my LO was in hers till a year old xx

Ah ignore the silly moos. I had this when I went to buy a carseat and I had 2 shop assistants telling me I was doing something wrong by having her in the infant seat still. I moved her into a bigger seat at about 19 months :)

you know your baby best, i think because of her being poorly and her development being a lil slow because of it she will be in that seat for ages yet cos its whats best for her. those ppl dont know what theyre on about, its all a rush to treat the babies like theyre growing up faster by moving them onto the next new thing as soon as possible instead of waiting til theyre naturally ready. you go by how you feel hun your doing great and she looks really happy

My niece was in hers til 13 months as my sister felt it was safer and she didn't weigh enough until then to be moved. X

Hey hun, ignore them...she looks well comfy in there and very cute :)

We've only moved LO into hers recently as she's tall like her daddy and her head was poking over the top otherwise she would defo have stayed in for longer! X

I had to move my lo up a size and 11 months but he was so cramped in it I would have waited otherwise. she looks comfy x

Most expert retailers will say keep them in infant car seat for as long as possible and st least a year. Even if they could fit a forward facing one, if they still fit the infant one then keep them in that. Had to move my eldest in to a forward facing one at 10 months as she screamed so much in rear one we decided that was more dangerous as she was so distracting. She was only just the right weight though and I would have preferred to keep her in the rear one.

You are doing the right thing keeping her in the newborn seat, its not so much age but how suitable the car seat is for her!! She looks like she is fitting in it ok still and if her head control isnt great yet then I would keep her in that car seat for as long as you can get away with!! SOme people really want to rus their babies almost like its something to show off about ifthey go up a car seat!!
