Hi girls...just wondered if those who have got their car seats could offer some advice?

I'd like to get a maxi cosi to fit on our travel system but just wondered what the difference is between the pebble and the cabriofix?

Finding it all very confusing and which iso base to use in the car etc! I'd like to make sure I buy a base that I can use with other seats in the future when bubs gets older so want to get it right.

If anyone knows of any good deals for maxi cosi's too that would be really helpful :)

xx

Hey Bewdley, we just went and got our car seat last week and we looked around online first. The best deal that we could find was Halfords it was quite a bit cheaper than the Pram Centre and Mothercare etc. Well the online price was but if you go to a store and say the online price is cheaper they should match it. Our store did no problem and saved us about £80. They should have a 'specialist' in the car seats too and the boy we got was brilliant. He took us to his car first to show us his then fully fitted it in mine etc.

Anyway we went for the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat as that was the seat for the newborn up to six months. In terms of the base we had 2 options the isofix or the easyfix. We opted for the isofix base that was quite a bit dearer but that base can be kept in the car and accept the Pebble and another type of seat which basically takes you up to the child is 5 ish so we took the hit now to not have to get a new one in a while if you see what I mean. However the easyfix is also a good option for you if you plan to move the seat to other cars (we only have one). Also the isofix only goes into isofix cars.

My advice would be go to a Halfords if you can. Make sure you get the online price first and get them to manage it and ask for the car seat trained person as we had a really good experience!

I got the cabriofix car seat of the kiddiecare website. Was about half the price than in mother care xxx

We have the cabriofix, only because it is very slightly lighter than the pebble, not much between it really!
Xxx

Thanks girls really appreciate all the advice! My sister & friend are lending us isofix bases one for each car so I'll have to find out which ones they are.

I've been looking online as not very mobile at the mo because of spd. Hoping to maybe get some crutches so I'll hobble to halfords and get their advice, lol! Thanks also Laurat for the tip on them price matching online :)

Thanks girls xx

Defo pricematch, i got mothercare to pricematch kiddicare. I did it because its easier to return to mothercare. We have cabriofix too btw

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

I went for the Pebble. Only cos I liked the name better than cabriofix. Sometimes it's all it comes down to! Buying stuff is a minefield! xx

We had a cabriofix wad brilliant x

pregnant with baby no 2 ;)
sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 excuse my terrible spelling :P

We've got the cabriofix one and bought the maxi cosy familyfix isofix base just so we can use the next car seat up after. We got ours from mothercare and they price matched Halfords for us. We had a lovely experience. They checked online to see if the seats would fit both our cars and then they tried them in each of our cars before we bought them.

We bought the cabriofix off someone on gumtree, saved about 40 quid. Got the easybase 2 from halfords and as laurat says the advice and fitting was great x

We got the cabriofix purely because it was top of the list on the which best buy guide...plus it looked a little sturdier then the pebble.

And we opted for the easyfix base....it still has the isofix points and you can also use the seat belt to go round the base in case your car hasn't got the isofix anchors,we have the anchors but have also put the seat belt through! Lol The reason for picking this one was because the other only allowed for one type of car seat in the next size up. And if you don't want this type of car seat than you have wasted then extra money.

We plan on buying which ever car seat is the best at the time and using the base it comes with plus the one we have now can go in other car or grandparents car.

We went for the Pebble and Familyfix base. There wasn't much difference in the seats - the Pebble is the more recent version from Maxi Cosi so has some design improvements. The Familyfix lasts longer as takes the next size seat up too.

We bought ours from Peppermint as we bought at the same time as our travel system and they had a free car seat deal on x

We got the pebble and Isofix family fix. We have just bought the next seat up for DS (maxi cosi pearl) and all good :)

Thanks for the advice :)

I'm going to phone around tomorrow and see if I can get a deal as need to order our travel system so might get a good package price with the car seat & base too xx

Maxi cosi pebble!! We got it in pink with the stars on it as its fits on the pram and is iso fix xx

Bought a pebble in confetti & the family fix base, thanks girls :) It arrives with our travel system in the next few days, cant wait xx

We've got the cabriofix as it was top of the which's best buy guide.

Ive been told and also given advice that the pebble with the isofix is the best. We did go for the cabriofix first but seeing them both together I fekt that the pebble had more support for babies head and looked more comfy. Mothercare really do all the safety checks etc... I was amazed . Dont get ours till 1st may though.... xx
