Can the mucus plug be clear?

When wiping earlier there was a clear jelly like substance on the loo roll...(tmi) I had a feel at it and it was very stringy and bouncy, nothing like any discharge I've had before. Hoping to god this is my plug and labour is starting soon??? Anyone had their plug come away?? What did it look like? I've heard it's usually blood tinged or snot coloured so I'm a little confused.

I was due my baby yesterday (22nd July), please let this be the start, lol!

I have read somewhere that it can be but not 100% sure, ring your midwife for advice x

I have read that it can be clear and isn't always pink stained.

Yes mine was but I also had blood in it later on x

Same as blue class mine started clear then changed over the course of the day. Labour started the next day

Thanks for all the replies, ladies. My waters started leaking this morning (so three days after I lost my plug) and I've been getting a lot of period pains and tightenings all day, so I'm thinking this may be it, finally!! So excited for labour, lol!!
