Came off the Pill 6 months ago....

Hi,

I am new to this forum but I just wanted to post my concerns. I came off Cilest in Feb but we were using condoms up until May as we were getting married at the end of May & didn't want any surprises! My 1st 3 periods were fine, not much pain & pretty easy. Since June I have had pains in my side, they last a lot longer than 'ovulation pains', I get aching pains down my left leg a lot & I now get period pains throughout my cycle. The pain I get isn't too bad, just maybe a few stabbing pains then just aching. I have been to see a nurse & was told it's just my body getting used 2 the pill. My periods range from 23-28 days so she says I'm clearly ovulating.
I have since been back to the doctors as it is still bothering me. I was told I could have little cysts or something but nothing to really worry about as my periods are pretty normal. I just wondered if anyone else has had anything like this. I just want my body to feel normal.

Hey,

I didn't experience same as you but I can tell you it took my body over two years to get back to normal after coming off the pill. It could range from 24-41 day cycles. I know we are all different but the pill can have a lot to answer for in some circumstances.

I hope things settle and get back to normal soon for you x

It does take a while to settle unfortunately, some people experience pregnancy symptoms and have irregular periods for a long time!!

took me 5 months to get my periods normal but some people can take upto 2 years x

Thanks, I just don't think I was prepared for what changes would happen with my body. The doctor did say that if I wanted to go back & have a scan i could, but she didn't think it was necessary. Who knows!!

You don't ovulate on the pill. If after a couple of months you're having problems, then you may need a different pill. I'm a nurse and it does sound like they're not really listening to you.

I'm not on the pill, it's been about 6 months since I came off.
