I hate this scar, it's ugly and horrible. It has knocked my confidence and I wish it wasn't there. I cannot stand seeing it, or anyone else seeing it so I cover it with a flannel while I'm in the bath.
Does anyone know of any procedures, creams, potions - anything at all that can't be used on c section scars to help with the cosmetic situation?

I know its nowhere near the same but with all my scars from laps and the appendix removal I use vitamin e oil capsules . I open them and rub it in straight and it really helps . I sympathise with you I've a new horrid scar and shower with my eyes closed if I can help it

Was going to say bio oil, but I'm not sure it's 'enough' iykwim.

I've done a little research on this and a doctor recommended silicone gel something like Dermatix - it's recommended by plastic surgeons for reducing the appearance of scars. The other thing he suggested was regular massage of the scar as firmly as you can. Not recommended for a very recent scar but is good for a healed, older scar.

They claim it is clinically tested to flatten, soften and reduce scarring and also reduce the itch from the scar too. It's not cheap though!

He didn't particularly recommend vitamin e creams or oil as he didn't feel the provided any benefit.

Ive seen some sort of clear gel dressing for C-Section scars in boots in the baby section, I think they are designed to help with scarring? X

I haven't tried that, I'll have a go and :hugs:

I actually "borrowed" a clear dressing from the burns nurse at work. It was really great apparently. I don't think it made a massive difference. I think I'll always be gutted about it, it's never going to go away is it. It's 5 years old now :(

I'll ask the nurse in the dressing clinic today , she's checking my wound so maybe she will have some advice xx

I think after 5 years hun, thats pretty much where yourll be now, ( sorry)Mine didnt change further and i had a 9 year gap between baby 3 and 4 sections.

I really do rate the high strength vit e capsules tho. Im super sensitive / dead tasty to mosquitos etc so in the summer i was bitten every night when i watered the allotment after 5 pm ish. A fellow gardener told me to rub vit e capsules on bite marks as my ankles / legs were looking silly and you could really see the reduction in mark over a couple weeks, worth a try.

You could have one more baby by section, and get them to tidy it?
My reversal scar and devon scar was messy and thick and they tidyed and excised old scars and its soo much thinner and tidier this time!

I can't have another baby, OH has been left infertile after the chemo.
I am trying the vit E capsules, I hope they help. The scar isn't a dark colour though or thick so I don't know what success I'll get :(
